Ever feel like you're your own worst enemy when it comes to job searching? You're not alone. There are often powerful "invisible barriers" holding us back from taking the leap - unhelpful thought patterns, limiting beliefs, and self-sabotaging behaviors we're not even fully aware of. For many, it starts with fixed mindset thinking - the belief that our capabilities and potential are static, rather than something we can continually grow and develop. When we view ourselves through this lens, putting ourselves out there for new roles can feel downright terrifying. Then there are the limiting beliefs we've internalized over the years - "I'm not good enough," "I don't have what it takes," "Who am I to go after that dream job?" These Greatest Hits constantly play on loop, keeping us stuck in our comfort zones. And finally, there are the self-sabotaging behaviors we fall into as a result. We procrastinate on updating our resumes. We let our networking efforts lapse. We avoid networking events entirely. All in an unconscious effort to escape the emotional discomfort of putting ourselves out there. Sound familiar? If this resonates, you're certainly not alone. But awareness is the first step. Once you understand what's really holding you back, you can start dismantling those invisible barriers. That's where we come in at the Career Transition Center. Our coaches will help you identify your personal roadblocks, replace limiting beliefs with an empowered growth mindset, and build the resilience to power through rejection and discomfort. It all starts at our free intro session on 6/3 at 11am - 12pm come learn about our holistic approach to overcoming what's really holding you back: https://lnkd.in/eKtFyAZT Don't let those invisible barriers keep you stuck any longer. 🙋🏾♂️3 questions that helped me get unstuck in my career change journey. Doing the inner work is what ultimately helped me find the right career path for me. I didn’t need help updating my resume or with networking. I was doing that and I was still feeling stuck. What was holding me back? I wouldn’t find out until I went to my first personal development seminar. What I learned was that I had limiting beliefs that were holding me back. These beliefs were based on - My fear of failure - Worrying about what other people think - Not feeling good enough Our fear-based beliefs will always talk us out of what we really want to do because anything new feels dangerous. I learned to overcome these beliefs by 1. Being aware of them 2. Choosing a new belief With my new beliefs I gained the clarity and confidence I needed to find my ideal new career path. To reframe your limiting beliefs ask yourself 1. What is the story you are telling yourself about why you can’t have what you want? 2. What must you believe about yourself in order to get what you want? 3. What is one action you can take today to get what you want? At the end of the day only you can get yourself unstuck. You might as well choose the beliefs that will get you what you want. 🔥If you found this post valuable share your thoughts below. ———— When it comes to changing careers and finding more fulfilling work I outlined my 5-Step Career Design process from lawyer to executive coach. You will learn the right mindset and strategies I used to get unstuck and find a more fulfilling career. 👉🏾 You can download the free guide and the 7-Day email course here https://lnkd.in/eAEvru3y

Lost Your Cush Job? Let's Get Real About the Next Steps We’ve all been there. Losing a cush job is a gut punch. Suddenly, the security blanket is gone, and you're staring at the vast unknown. The anxiety, the fear of what's next—it’s overwhelming. Should you start thinking about putting together a resume or jumping into subcontractor work? Is that a bridge too far now? Why? Where do you even start? But let’s be real: This might be the best opportunity you've ever had. Yes, the fear is real. Yes, the unknown is terrifying. But here’s the kicker: The mindset you need to succeed is within reach. It’s all about taking action, even when you don’t feel confident. Confidence isn’t a prerequisite; it’s a result. Get Your Head on Straight: Understand where you are right now. What are your assets? What skills and experiences can you leverage? Name Your Fears: Acknowledge them. Write them down. They lose their power when they’re out in the open. Clarify Your Vision: Where do you want to be next month? Next year? In five years? Clarity brings focus and direction. Take Action: Even small steps count. Action begets confidence. The more you do, the more you’ll feel capable. It’s not easy, but nothing worth having ever is. Embrace the journey, and trust that each step forward is a step towards your new reality. Let’s face this with a mix of determination and a bit of humor—because if we can’t laugh at the craziness, what’s the point? Feel the fear, and do it anyway. Your future self will thank you. #CareerChange #EmbraceTheUnknown #TakeAction #BuildConfidence #NextSteps

My clients are making huge shifts in their careers and one this is one of the most fundamental things they did was this: Surrounded themselves with the right people 👯♀️ The saying that you’re the sum of the 5 people you spend the most time isn’t just a random quote - it’s true - and my clients recognise that 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘯𝘦𝘵𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬 = 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘯𝘦𝘵 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘩. Here’s what they shifted: Stopped taking random career advice from people who aren’t where they want to be. Those risk-averse people who are trying to dish out career advice to you… tell them to park it somewhere else. You’re not interested 🙉. It’s really important to start to take advice from people who have done what you want to do and are where you want to be. Stopped surrounding themselves with negative Norman's & Nancy’s. Surrounding yourself with individuals who are optimistic about career changes can significantly impact your mindset. Negativity is contagious; being around those who complain about their jobs without taking action can drain your energy and enthusiasm. Started protecting their energy and setting boundaries: Those negative comments can permeate into your being. Whilst we can’t remove everyone with a negative view we can set clear boundaries of what we want to hear and what we don’t. Reached out to get the right support: Not just from me as their experienced career coach, but also looking at who they can lean on, what groups they can join to stay accountable and keep themselves motivated in achieving their career goals. This is 𝘦𝘹𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘭𝘺 why I chose to create True Calling my career direction and life design programme where you have your already made group of cheerleaders helping you every step of the way! You can hear what a couple of my previous participants had to say about being in a group in the video below. Take a moment to evaluate your current network. Are the people around you supporting your career change? If not, consider seeking out new connections who align with your vision. #careerchange #careerchangecoach #careercoaching #careercoach #careercoachingforwomen

A lot of professionals debate making a career change but don’t act on their feelings. If you’re feeling a sense of wanting change, but you’re stuck in taking action, consider: Reveal your mindset — There may be reasonable, valid concerns on your mind. Figure out what you’re not sure about (a change in salary, a change in lifestyle or working style, etc), and then you’ll figure out what you need to do to build comfort and readiness (a conversation with a loved one?). Don’t let your lack of knowing where you want to go make you feel stalled. Rather, lean into career exploration by researching, networking, and reflecting deeply to clarify what your path forward would look like. If you’re still not sure, turn uncertainties into questions, and questions into answers, and use that information to create a strategy. You may realize that a path you thought you wanted isn’t all it's chalked up to be, or you may uncover a path you had never heard of before. Lean into the exploration process to assuage your concerns, gather information, and make an informed path forward. Career advice I wish I could give my 22 year old self to help her sleep better at night 💕 If you’re in the early stages of your career, or just feeling a bit lost, this is for you: ✨ Trust the process. Not everything needs to be perfect right away. Your career is a journey, not a sprint, and every step has a purpose, even if it doesn’t make sense at first. ✨ Embrace failure as part of growth. The setbacks you face are not the end—they’re teaching moments that make you stronger, wiser, and more resilient. Mistakes don’t define you; how you bounce back does. ✨ Build relationships, not just a resume. Networking isn’t just about getting a job. It’s about creating a support system of mentors, peers, and friends who can guide, inspire, and challenge you. ✨ Don’t wait for the “perfect” job. Perfect doesn’t exist, but growth does. Every role has something valuable to teach you—seize those lessons and keep moving forward. To anyone reading this, wherever you are on your journey: you’ve got this. Take it one step at a time, and remember that the best is yet to come. 💫 #CareerAdvice #GrowthMindset #TrustTheJourney #jobsearch ♻ Repost this if you relate to it! 💻 Follow Mishika Gupta for daily advice on how to stand out in the job market and land your next role.

Gaining career clarity is SO challenging because there are so many things that can throw you off your game. Many of my clients come in with a decent amount of clarity to begin with, they feel like they’ve done the work to understand who they are and what they care about. They have a general sense of their strengths, interests ,and values. They might even have a few ideas of the next career move they want to make. But, what comes next is where it alllll falls apart. The first thing that comes after clarity is being able to describe what you want and where you’re going to others, but finding the words to articulate your vision in a compelling way ends up being way harder than many people anticipate. Which leads to the next problem, not getting traction. When you’re navigating a job search and not getting the kind of reception you anticipated it can feel like you’re in a real-life game of whack a mole. Putting yourself out there over and over, and getting knocked down time and again, makes you start to question your reality. 🤷♀️ Am I on the right path to begin with? 🧐 Should I shift and do something totally different? 🤨 Am I doing something wrong, and if so, what is it? 🥴 Maybe, I should just stay where I am and make my peace with it or try to improve it. If you’re feeling any of these things, you aren’t alone. But, I know it can feel lonely. Getting external feedback and support during the clarity process can be extremely helpful to maintain confidence and motivation during the early days of a career transition. So, whether it’s working with a coach, recruiting some fellow job seekers, or leaning on your network, ensure you get support during this time. #Careers #CareerTransition #Jobsearch #PersonalBranding
