Today we want to welcome and shout out our Jefferson Parish TEAM! Career TEAM added Jefferson Parish to the team in July and we are so excited to accelerate the human condition in Louisiana! In just the first four weeks of offering WIOA services, the Jefferson Parish TEAM has hit the ground running! They’ve engaged VIPs, completed numerous training sessions, and quickly put their new knowledge into action to deliver top-notch service. The TEAM had the pleasure of engaging with the community at a Back to School Bash, where our TEAMers proudly showcased our services. They also participated in a Youth Culminating Ceremony, where the TEAM celebrated the incredible achievements of 75 young adults who participated in year-round and summer work experiences, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, leadership, and work readiness through Career EDGE. The Jefferson Parish team is planning further outreach within high schools, non-profit organizations, and with partners to continue spreading the word about the opportunities we offer. We are thrilled to serve in the Jefferson Parish area and we know this TEAM will truly make an impact. Stay tuned for more updates about this amazing TEAM!! #WIOASuccess #CareerEdge #CommunityImpact #YouthAchievement #JobCenterUpdates

Could YOU or your organization benefit from some sales training (whether it be product selling or just selling your company or nonprofit's mission better)? Look no further than Tom Latourette and M3 Learning. He was more concerned about addressing our needs and our "why" than trying to push a specific sales philosophy or approach.
Using the ProActive Sales methodology I train and coach sales leaders for stronger pipelines (Prospecting-First Date -Test Drive-Close!), self-managing teams (Metric, Measure, Motivate) and a Winning Sales Culture
I absolutely HATE tooting my own horn... BUT I've been teaching this lately so I guess I should follow my own advice. (Am I right, Steven Glick and Jim Connolly?) Anyways, I like to take our M3 Learning philosophy and apply it pro bono to local non-profits whose missions speak to me! I find that most non-profits struggle with the "SALES" conversation. The last thing they want to do is be seen as a PUSHY SALESPERSON. Also, they aren't quite sure how to powerfully guide their "customer" (be it a parent, volunteer, sponsor or user of their services) to the solution that they KNOW will make a huge difference in their lives! Many in non-profit are drawn to their mission because it's made a difference in their own lives or the lives of people close to them. They have a strong calling and know the mission of the organization will made an IMPACT in the local community and the world! Still, they wonder, "How do I powerfully share that story so people not only hear it properly, but act with purpose, intention and energy?" Last week, I was able to have that conversation and give some powerful strategies to better address those challenges with an incredible group of leaders at Midtown-Metro Achievement Centers. Midtown-Metro is looking to guide low-income urban youth in Chicago to unlimited pathways of success. They offer various programs that embrace the dignity of the person by focusing on academic excellence, virtue development, individual attention and parental engagement. Think about this, FOR THE LAST 20 YEARS 100% of the young boys and girls who go through their programs graduate high school AND have also achieved enrollment to a college! Of course, I want to be part of that mission! Thanks to Kevin Schreiber for turning me on to the organization he recently joined! Thanks to Vince Meno for having the faith, trust and confidence in me to have me work with this team. AND lastly, thanks for the incredible team who are making a HUGE DIFFERENCE In Chicago and the world! Micheil Pruni, Pedro J. Caranti, Gisselle Contreras, Anna Wisowaty, Osese Osezua, Casandra Vences, Anne Snow, Pilar Pardo, Daniel Matamoros, Stacey Province, Victor Lado, Hannah Regan, Gemma Cremers, Žiba Sidrys, Samuel Dancer, Mariano Gomez

Since sharing my perspective and insights on the State of Education as it affects our youth, specifically our marginalized youth, it has sparked conversations, opened eyes, and ignited interest in policies, resources, and advocacy. As a former teacher, I always ensured parents that I accepted the call to teach and fully embraced all children as if they were my own. I can only imagine what would happen if we all focused on humanizing policies and embraced our neighbors as our family. Collectively, we can bridge gaps between home, school, and our community if we embody the mindset that ALL children deserve the opportunity to achieve greatness. I have accepted the call to being a non-profit leader, and though the work is daunting, securing financial support is challenging, and spreading the mission and vision can sometimes feel like an uphill battle... regardless of the number of no's or "your organization was not selected as a grant recipient," I refuse to quit, fold, or give in because of OUR CHILDREN. To my fellow non-profit leaders: your work is not in vain, and it may take time for others to see your vision, but DO NOT GIVE UP. Shouting out and expressing my sincerest THANKS to all of you who have supported our efforts in various ways. “When I dare to be powerful, to use my strength in the service of my vision, then it becomes less and less important whether I am afraid.” ― Audre Lorde P.S: This is just a snippet of my talk ❤️ ! Hi everyone! Exciting news - I'm bringing back my open-door mentoring sessions for the next two weeks! This time, I'm hoping to make a difference by raising money for a good cause. As a member of the board of NY Urban League Young Professionals, we are raising funds for the Whitney M. Young, Jr. Scholarship - an initiative to help deserving high school seniors in the community alleviate the financial burden of higher education. Here's how it works: In exchange for a donation to the cause, you'll get 30 minutes of my time to use as you wish. In previous sessions, I've given resume feedback, interview tips, answered questions on how to progress/pursue a career in strategy or advertising in general, and in some cases just offered some kind words & life advice. To participate, simply donate what you can to the cause using this link (every amount is welcome even if it is just $10 or $20): https://lnkd.in/eyQdeiXe. Be sure to select me as the team lead you are attributing your donation to so we can see our collective impact! Then, find a time on my calendar at this link: https://lnkd.in/efxK7za4 Finally, when it's time for your appointment, please bring a list of questions/topics you'd like to discuss. If you're not looking for mentoring, you can still help make a difference by donating to the fund directly or sharing this post with your network. Let's work together to support the future leaders in our community🖤
