But if you’re considering resume writing for your second act or you’re on that entrepreneurial path already, you’re going to want to consider the six key steps I lay out in my Forbes Coaches Council article: Six Steps To Your Successful Second Act As A Professional Resume Writer. Some of this information was gleamed through CDI’s Critical Industry Analysis survey, which allowed me to document what was working (and what wasn’t) in the growth of resume writing and career coaching practices in the past year. Do this and you’ll achieve every goal you go after, not just entering the TORIs. Here’s the advice of my recent show guest, Deborah L. Schuster, CPRW, CERM, CGRA, 6X award-winning resume writer: “Schedule time to work on the TORIs. Put it right on your calendar. If you don’t, it won’t happen.” That’s right! If it doesn’t show up on your calendar, how’s it going to make it into your day? Something else will always take precedence and you’ll push it off and push it off until you run out of time.
