#CareerStruggles #JobHunting #NewGradBlues Hey everyone, I just wanted to vent a little because honestly, I’m feeling super overwhelmed right now. 😩 So, here’s the deal: I’m a recent graduate from what I can only describe as a mediocre school, and the job hunt has been nothing short of a nightmare. I don’t have any internship experience—but I’ve worked a ton of other jobs that don’t exactly scream “programmer.” Every job posting I stumble upon feels like a lost cause, with 100+ other applicants already in the mix, even for local positions. It’s just insane! Plus, let’s talk about the job boards. They’re so cluttered that it’s frustrating. 🤯 I keep seeing scams, those so-so boot camps, and recruiting firms that don’t seem to have real positions. It feels like they just want to add me to their database and not actually help me find a job. So, I can’t help but wonder… Did I waste several years of my life and tens of thousands of dollars on this degree? 😔 Like, what am I even supposed to ... Looking for an internship as a college student? Here’s the platform that changed everything for me: Handshake When I started applying, I had no idea where to look. Then I discovered Handshake—and it’s a game-changer. Here’s what happened: • Applied to 30 internships in just a few clicks using the Easy Apply feature. • Heard back from 10 companies the very next day. Why Handshake works: ✔️ Most internships are fully remote (some onsite options too!). ✔️ Employers are actively looking for interns, recent graduates, and students to mentor. ✔️ Many internships have the potential to convert into full-time roles. ✔️ Even if they don’t, they’re a great way to manage a transition phase in today’s competitive job market. ✔️ Advanced filters make finding the right role easy. ✔️ It’s a hub for open-minded startups and nonprofit organizations. Here’s the best part: You likely already have access to Handshake through your university! Visit joinhandshake.com to get started. If you’re a student trying to land an internship, start with Handshake. P.S. What’s your go-to internship resource? Share below—I’d love to hear! Note: This is not a sponsored post. I’m just genuinely trying to help college students reach somewhere in the current job market. What I’m sharing here comes from my own experience. #InternshipTips #CollegeSuccess #HandshakePlatform #JobSearch #RemoteInternships #CareerGrowth #StudentOpportunities #FutureOfWork #InternshipExperience #CareerAdvice

🌟 Placement Season is Here! 🌟 It's that time of the year when opportunities knock on our doors, and it's up to us to make the most of them. As we dive into the placement season, I wanted to share some valuable tips on how to effectively ask for referrals. Build Genuine Connections 🤝 Before asking for a referral, focus on establishing real connections. Engage with your network, share insights, and show interest in their work. A strong relationship lays the foundation for a successful referral. Be Specific and Clear 🎯 When reaching out, clearly mention the role you're interested in and why you think you'd be a good fit. This not only makes it easier for the person to help you but also shows that you've done your homework. Provide Context 📄 Share your updated resume and a brief note about your achievements and career goals. This will help the referrer speak confidently about your qualifications. Respect Their Time ⏰ Keep your message concise and to the point. Acknowledge that they might be busy, and express your gratitude for any help they can provide. Follow Up and Show Gratitude 🙏 If they agree to refer you, be sure to send a thank-you note. And if you land an interview or job because of their referral, let them know and thank them again. Best of luck to everyone during this exciting time! Remember, the right referral can open doors, so don't hesitate to reach out and ask. 🚀 #PlacementSeason #Referrals #JobSearch #CareerTips #Networking #placements #CampusPlacements #CareerOpportunities #HiringNow #JobHunt #JobOpportunities #GraduateJobs #Careers #Recruitment #Internship #JobSeeker #NewGradJobs

Do you know how to talk about your professional experience? As a recruiter, I've had the privilege of witnessing the incredible journeys of countless professionals. One thing that truly sets candidates apart is their diverse work experiences. Whether it's your past projects, volunteer work, university coursework, or internships, every facet of your background contributes to your unique skill set including soft skills. Communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and critical thinking—these are the interpersonal skills that often go unnoticed on resumes but are absolutely important for success in the workplace. Don't underestimate their power. And here's a tip: Your non-work experiences are talents waiting to be discovered. From volunteering to community involvement, you've honed skills in leadership, teamwork, and communication that can be applied across various industries. But perhaps the most valuable lesson in your career journey is the art of embracing failure. Everyone stumbles, but it's the ability to learn and grow from these setbacks that defines true resilience. When you talk about your failures in a positive light during interviews, you show potential employers that you're unafraid to take risks and bounce back stronger. Exciting news is on the horizon, and I can't wait to share it with you! If you’re in the job market, DM me the word “CAREER” and I will help you with your job search! #jobsearch #layoff
