How Long Does It Take To Plan A Robbery; Minutes, Weeks, Months? The answer is probably all three and it largely depends on who is carrying out the robberies, amateurs maybe a few minutes, professionals several months, if not longer. Over that several month period, professionals will be undertaking surveillance, mapping out routes, testing police reaction times, finding out which employees might be around, judging traffic conditions, taking photographs and films, carrying out dummy runs, all of this in a effort to get what they want and to reduce their risk of being caught. It doesn't matter if their target is a cash in transit vehicle, a cash centre or a museum, the process is the same and they are not invisible. Maintaining surveillance awareness over a protracted period of time isn't easy, but ongoing training and as an organisation maintaining the correct security posture can help. Security Risk Management isn't just a title on one of my website pages, (to access it, click the link here: https://lnkd.in/eqEMTZXZ ), it is an ongoing process that has to be embedded across an organisation and not just in the security team. #aidansecurity #securitymanager #securityprofessional https://lnkd.in/emcjfKRc

We are working with retailers to support them in reducing commercial risk from theft and keep their staff and customers safer with highly trained and skilled operatives that can identify potential threats, de-escalate conflict and intercept thieves. But Co-op statistics indicating that two-in-five criminals detained by trained security guards still walk away with Police failing to attend indicates the scale of the problem and the need for a co-ordinated approach across the private security sector and law enforcement. Our goal is to support retailers in cracking down on theft but our priority is always the safety of staff and customers in store and all our teams are first-aid trained. https://lnkd.in/eaP_Tc2t

The rise in knife crime has become a prominent topic in the media, drawing attention to the concerning trend. Despite this coverage, public awareness and acknowledgement of the issue remain low, often attributed to the perception that it has not directly affected them. In light of recent articles highlighting the dangers of "Zombie Knives," it is alarming that many retail sector employees lack adequate training and safety measures to protect themselves. It is essential for businesses, especially those in the retail sector, to prioritize the safety and well-being of their staff. Implementing training programs on handling potential threats, recognizing suspicious behaviour, and responding effectively in crisis situations can significantly reduce the risk of harm to employees. Additionally, establishing robust security protocols and systems within retail establishments is crucial to creating a safe work environment. Addressing the issue of knife crime requires a collaborative effort between law enforcement, businesses, and the community. By raising awareness, providing education, and implementing preventive measures, we can work towards reducing the incidence of knife-related incidents and ensuring the safety of all individuals, including retail employees. As responsible members of society, it is our collective duty to take proactive steps to address the growing concerns surrounding knife crime. By staying informed, advocating for safety measures, and supporting initiatives aimed at violence prevention, we can contribute to creating a safer and more secure environment for everyone. Let us not wait for tragedy to strike close to home before taking action – prevention is key in safeguarding our communities.

Identification of Suspects - We can help you to do more! This is not just a problem for police in London and the other forces across the UK noted in this article - West Yorkshire, Essex, Kent and others - but in many parts of the globe. The Chief Inspector of Policing in England and Wales, Andy Cooke, is right to note that “Seeing so many neighbourhoods that have got zero per cent detection rates for some of these crimes, it’s not acceptable. If the chances of being caught are so low, that is not a deterrent.” Yet £billions and $billions have been spent on CCTV and other recording device, and now less suspects are identified. The teams at Neville Forensic Recognition, working with Super Recognisers International, can introduce a systematic approach to the use of images - increasing detections and making communities safer. https://lnkd.in/e6Supi25

🚨 Atlas Security Officer Reflects on a Major Arrest in Summerstrand 🚨 This past weekend, our Atlas Security team made a big arrest following a series of armed robberies in the Summerstrand area. One of our dedicated Armed Response Officers was instrumental in ensuring these criminals were brought to justice. Here’s his story: "I've been a part of the Atlas family since April 1, 2009—15 years now. Even though I’ve had some breaks in service, most of my adult life has been with Atlas. My family keeps me motivated, and there’s also an adrenaline rush when catching or searching for a suspect. It’s a reminder that you’re alive, focused, and driven to make our community a safer place. I take pride in knowing that I have a purpose in this world: to make it a better place for everyone." On the night of the arrest, he made the key decision to search in the Central area—a decision that proved to be spot-on. "I’ve worked in Central for years. It’s an area with a lot of crime, and many criminals use Parliament Street's nightlife as a cover. We’ve had many successful arrests there, recovering stolen vehicles and apprehending suspects after incidents like hijackings. When I spoke to the victims that night, they described the robbers as foreigners, and I knew that many stolen items end up being sold in Central. With that in mind, I focused on Rose Street and Parliament Street, where we’ve previously made numerous arrests." His years of experience and deep knowledge of the area were key in tracking down the suspects that night. "Experience is everything, especially in Central. Over the years, you develop a sixth sense for criminal activities—you start to understand their habits, actions, and movements. To catch a suspect, you have to think like one, anticipate their next move, and figure out where they’ll hide. That’s what helped me that night." We’re proud of our officer’s bravery and commitment to keeping our community safe. His dedication and experience truly make a difference. 👏 Catch up on how it unfolded here: https://lnkd.in/dSS4wFd6 #AtlasSecurity #Robbery #Success #Commitment #Safety #TeamWork #NMBsNumber1 #YourWorldSecureInOurHands

The police play a crucial role in crime prevention and resolution, including thefts; however, there are limitations to their effectiveness when it comes to stopping criminals during an ongoing theft attempt. This is why integrating an alarm system with a fogging system can be extremely useful and advantageous. - Response Time - Immediate Deterrence - Protection of Valuables - Damage Reduction - Assistance to Police Integrating an alarm system with a fogging system therefore provides an additional layer of protection that is not solely reliant on police presence but acts instantly to disorient and deter thieves, effectively safeguarding valuable items within the building.
