A series of unfortunate (but preventable) mistakes. I allow for a lot leeway one how my operators solve problems, and sometimes it doesn't always go well. Operator one removed the scum skimmer due the scum pit being plugged when you can just pull the skimmer up on the bracket in the picture below. Mistake. Operator two puts the skimmer back on and it ended up getting wedged on the scum beach. Also a mistake. Since we cannot run these particular drives backwards, I had the stellar idea to dry and smack an aluminum clarifier skimmer arm with a rubber mallet. The biggest mistake. My thought was that it only had to clear an inch or two that was wedged on side of the scum beach. It didn't work and I broke that skimmer arm. Mistakes were made from all parties involved but ultimately I made the biggest mistake because I didn't think things all the way through. So even under stress, stop and think through all scenarios. It'll allow you to do a better, safer job and hopefully you won't needlessly break things like me. 🌟 Exciting Day for a Rustenburg area pump at the PABT workshop🌟 Today, I had the incredible opportunity and privilege to tackle a challenging task – building a 16/14 for a rep in the Rustenburg area. Despite encountering some hurdles along the way, including persistent leaks at the studs of the frame plate liner and cover plate liner, I dove into the issue head-on. After a thorough investigation, we identified a sealing issue when we removed the liners. Swift action was necessary, so we promptly replaced the problematic components, applied grease to the seals, and put them back in place. The result? We successfully passed the pressure test, ensuring top-notch performance. I'm immensely proud of the team's dedication and determination in overcoming these obstacles. As I reflect on today's accomplishments, I can confidently say it was a job well done. Tonight, I'll sleep soundly knowing that we delivered exceptional results. We are very glad to present our updated version of the Checkgrout system: Checkgrout_D. Checkgrout_D is the result of more than twenty measurement campaigns carried out all over the world in less than three years. We have come up with what we believe is the most advanced caliper for measuring the radius of jet grouting columns. The core idea is the same: using a flexible probe equipped with a shape array to measure the radius of jet grouting columns. What's changed is that: now the measure is taken right after the column is finished (no need of retrieving the monitor and swap it with a deviator) the probe deviates itself without operating a piston. Thrust and pull are now done using the rig chuck Multilevel measurements are easier to perform even if the upper clamps of your rig are fixed. Least but not last we can sample the column!
