If you also feel like you're not making headway on your goal, and you feel stuck, chances are your actions (and non-actions) are arguing for where you are or for your past, not what you really truly desire. It totally makes sense. Your experience is grounded in the past and what you've done. Plus, what is familiar is safe. It keeps you surviving. The thing is you want to thrive. That frustration you feel at falling into old patterns and being stuck, despite being committed to wanting to create a new career and life for yourself, is your future self talking. She knows you're capable of so much more. Here's the thing -- All the reasons to stay small and in what's familiar are made up. They're stories in your mind, rooted in fear, which loves to catastrophize that finishing the paper and the degree, upleveling your career, finishing the novel, getting your first speaking gig will be the death of you and everything you've known and built. They feel real and valid, but they're just stories -- thoughts and beliefs that you've picked up or built along the way. This is great news because it means that the opposite of these stories is just as equally true and possible. It's just as possible that you finish the paper on time and do well, complete the degree with relative ease, land the position you've been eyeing, shift to a dream career, finish the novel and land an agent, get your first speaking gig. I know it's easier to believe the ones where we fail because our brains have a negativity bias. That's why you need to consciously choose the other stories and believe they're just as possible. So why not choose to believe your success is inevitable, if you're believing stories anyway? It's a much better, more expansive story than the one that has you failing. Shifting away from unhelpful stories and developing a more supportive set of self-beliefs is part of the work you do when we work together. Book a consult call and let's change today's story for tomorrow's success. https://buff.ly/45ZxzJd #changeyourthinking #confidence #getunstuck #highachievingwomen #impostersyndrome

Where are my comparison junkies at? Or Those with a sense of chronic discontentment. Or Those that feel like something is missing. Or D. All of the Above. Oh Hey There! One of the best things I have done to address that for myself and with every client I have ever worked with is to … … come up with YOUR OWN definition of success. Because we are force fed our entire lives what our culture and family and societal definitions of success are. And not just professionally but romantically, socially, personally, physically - in all the ways we exist as a human there is some definition of success we are taught. If that definition doesn’t align with what you actually care about or the identities you hold, then chasing it will feel angsty, and achieving it will also feel angsty. WTF. Indeed. When I was 19 and figuring out what degree I was going to declare, I remember thinking as long as I make good money, I don’t care if I hate my job. In the financial chaos I grew up in, I understand why she thought that. I understand why in that moment she envisioned success being a power suit in a big-city high-rise. And don’t get me wrong I love a good TV show that has all of that razzle dazzle (Suits. Scandal. Whew!) But that wasn't really my definition. Just one I thought I was supposed to strive for. And I see it with my clients too. They ask: ❓ What am I missing? ❓Why am I not happy with this thing I thought I wanted? ❓Why can’t I figure out what’s next for me? ❓Is there something wrong with me? Amongst other things. These are people that are 'traditionally' successful. They’ve checked the boxes. So what are we to do with the WTF? 💫 Discover what actually MATTERS to YOU. 💫 How do you do that? By exploring different questions (and answering them honestly outside of the societal BS). Questions like: ✅ What conversations do you love to be in? ✅ What would be the most meaningful ways to spend your days? ✅ Who do you want to be remembered as? Ask open questions like that and you’ll find your way to YOUR definition of success. Now I define my life + leadership with the below as my compass: Impact. Adventure. Love. And the power suit? Only if it's gonna make me feel like 🔥 . What has changed about your definition of success overtime? ______________________________ Hey, I’m Sarah (she/her). The Leadership Architect. I’ve been there— the days that are supposed to be ‘off’ but somehow turn into days ‘to catch up.’ It sneaks up on you. What started as a vision of freedom, a chance to lead on your own terms, slowly becomes an endless climb. I’d catch myself saying, ‘just one more email,’ ‘just one more client,’ ‘just one more project,’ hoping those small efforts would bring me closer to a sense of completion. But with each ‘just one more,’ I felt the gap widen between the life I’d imagined and the life I was actually living. What once felt expansive started to feel like pressure, and those precious moments—unhurried mornings, quiet time with loved ones—began to slip away. Real success, I realized, isn’t just in achieving more; it’s in reconnecting with why I began this journey in the first place. When I started regulating my nervous system, I found the clarity and renewed focus that brought me back to what truly mattered. I wasn’t just climbing; I was creating a life that felt as fulfilling as it was ambitious. From that place, each goal feels deeply meaningful, each day off becomes a real break, and every success feels as good as I’d dreamed. How would your daily choices align with your true values if your nervous system were calm and fully regulated? If you're ready to step off the endless climb and reconnect with what truly matters, let’s work together to create a life that feels as fulfilling as it is ambitious. Reach out to learn how you can start building a career—and a life—that honors both your goals and your peace through the power of your nervous system. 💡 Unconventional Career Advice That Changed Everything for Me 💡 Here’s a piece of advice you might not hear often: “Stop trying to be perfect.” As a professional and a mom, I used to chase perfection in everything I did—whether it was at work, at home, or in my personal life. I thought that if I could just get everything exactly right, I’d finally feel successful and fulfilled. But the truth? Perfection was my enemy. Instead, I learned to embrace imperfection. I gave myself permission to make mistakes, to say, “this is good enough,” and to focus on progress rather than perfection. And that shift made all the difference. 🎯 How It Made a Difference: Increased Productivity: Letting go of the need to be perfect allowed me to focus on getting things done. I became more efficient at work and had more time for my family. Reduced Stress: Perfectionism was exhausting. Once I let it go, I felt lighter, less stressed, and more in control of my life. Stronger Relationships: Embracing imperfection helped me connect more authentically with others, both at work and at home. I was more present and less worried about getting everything just right. 💪 3 Actionable Steps to Embrace Imperfection: Set Realistic Goals: Instead of aiming for perfect, aim for progress. Break down your tasks into manageable steps and celebrate each small win. Practice Self-Compassion: Be kind to yourself when things don’t go as planned. Remember, everyone makes mistakes, and they’re a natural part of growth. Prioritise What Matters: Focus on what’s truly important in your work and life. Let go of the small stuff that doesn’t really move the needle. Perfectionism is a tough habit to break, but I promise it’s worth it. If you’ve ever found success through unconventional advice, I’d love to hear your story! What’s one piece of advice that changed your career or life? 𝑯𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒂 𝒇𝒆𝒘 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒔 𝑰'𝒅 𝒕𝒆𝒍𝒍 𝒎𝒚 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒓 𝒔𝒆𝒍𝒇 As I look back, I wish I had known a few things that would have made my journey smoother. here's what l'd say to my younger self (and anyone else who needs to hear it): ✔️Trust the Process: Life isn't a straight line, and that's okay. Every setback is preparing you for something greater. Learn to embrace each twist and turn as part of your growth. ✔️Ask for Help, Early and Often: You don't have to do everything on your own. Surround yourself with people who are willing to support you and don't be afraid to reach out. ✔️Invest in Skills, Not Titles: Your skills will carry you forward, even when roles change. Focus on continuous learning, and invest time in developing the abilities that excite you. ✔️Celebrate Small Wins: Success isn't only about big moments. Take time to celebrate the small victories —they are the building blocks of your journey. ✔️Remember to Rest: Hustle culture is overrated. Rest is essential for resilience. Make time for yourself, and don't let burnout steal your passion. Whether you're just starting out or deep into your career, these are reminders that growth Is ongoing. #Repost# What's one thing you'd tell your younger self?
