Like every other thing, there are fake survey plans too. We recently made a post on how a survey plan looks like, well there are fakes too. So, how can you identify or verify your survey plan. Here are key steps to verify your survey plan: 1. To verify a survey plan in Nigeria, you can start by checking the stamp, name and signature of the licensed surveyor who prepared the plan. Verify, the person is a registered surveyor and is allowed to practice as a resident surveyor in the locality. This will help you confirm that the plan is authentic and has been prepared by a professional. 2. You can also check the plan against the records of the Land Registry to make sure that it matches the official records and verify the beacon numbers were issued to the surveyor and for the location on the survey plan. 3. In addition, you should check the plan for any discrepancies or errors like the date and title. Other types of discrepancies include errors in the dimensions or angles of the plan, and omissions or duplications of features on the plan. 4. And finally, you can ask a licensed surveyor to review the plan and give their opinion on its accuracy and to chart the coordinates to be sure the coordinates represent the actual location on the survey plan. Industries such as mining, logging, and construction are on the upswing, fueled in part by an influx of people moving to Southwest Florida.
