Perth to Yanchep rail line expansion 🚈🚈🚈completion early 2024. Viewport XR has been involved in computer graphic #visualisation and #simulation of 18 of the 23 new stations as part of METRONET project. Large scale infrastructure and development CG projects require signfiicant data wrangling, environment creation and storyboarding experience. For this brief, we needed to cover 14.5 km of new rail, showing the route, connectivity between stations, future town centres, station architecture as well as the passenger journey. To create a cohesive story that hit these elements within the play time of the video would require complete control of the camera, so we opted for a fully CG environment rather than helicopter and drone. Using Autodesk infraworks, we generated new road networks to integrate with the #BIM information received. iToo SoftwareSoftware's #railclone in #3dsmax provided speed and flexibility to replace the monstrous 14.5km of high polygon CAD data from #navisworks. #arcgis data was captured and heavily modified to provide our environment base, combined with meticulous #forestpro planting driven by modified satellite bitmaps to give us the accuracy we needed at varying distances. The new #Transperth C Series train was custom modelled by our modelling team inside and out. With a turnaround of less than six weeks, and reaching audiences on TV, Linkedin and Facebook, this sharp and effective delivery approached the brief creatively and completely exceeded client and stakeholder expectations. #rail #engineering #yanchep #trains #publictransport #infrastructure #perth
