It's been a wild six months of planning, building, and brilliance as we hit the final stretch before boots on the ground in (my home town of) Austin for Delta Air Lines first major appearance at SXSW.

The uniqueness of 'Retailtainment' at sea was a standout topic at this years DFNI Cruise Conference, discussed in a panel combined of leading representatives from Diageo, MSC Cruises, Rituals and EssilorLuxottica, expertly moderated by DFNI-Frontier Deputy Editor, Chris Madden.

Let's recap some key points:
⇨ Digital activations are an essential modern, accessible alternative to traditional popups. A lack of digitalisation with your 'Retailtainment' causes difficulty measuring ROI and future investments.
⇨ Connectivity equals conversion. 'Retailtainment' is easier onboard a ship compared to airports - increased time and space allows you to focus on a personal experience for the passenger and boost sales volume.
⇨ An effective logistics plan with clear expectations put to onboard teams is particularly important. Lack of viable logistics can make or break your conversions.
⇨ The cruise channel is in stark contrast to any other area of travel retail. The consumer is in relaxation mode, with a holiday retail mindset, plenty of time, and interest in retail and entertainment - an ideal headspace to be open to 'Retailtainment'
