Dream Blossom's Giving Up Week & Giving Month In Japanese, the word for "company" is written as 会社 (kaisha). The word for "society" is 社会 (shakai). I've always found it interesting that the same kanji characters are used for both words. I take it to mean that a "company" is a reflection of "society". A company needs a purpose, and ultimately, that purpose surely has to be to serve society. Without the support of society, i.e. everybody and everything around us all, I do not believe that a company can meaningfully exist. At Dream Blossom, we're proud of our CSR and SDGs activities. We do not hide the fact that we are a for-profit business, but we do endeavour to give back as much as we can to the society that supports us. It provides me with a huge motivation to make our company as successful as it can be - only then, can we truly give back. Last year, we decided to make a bigger splash to raise extra awareness of those in greater need around the world, amongst both our team and our business partners. We are repeating this again from today, with two fundraising activities: 1. Giving Up Week (Nov 25 - Dec 1) - most of our staff will be giving up something that they like for a week, and (a) donating to the International Red Cross as a gesture of support for others in need, and (b) using the act of giving something up as a prompt to think about those in greater need than ourselves both domestically and around the world. Dream Blossom will 100% fund-match all donations to double the Red Cross donations from our team. 2. Giving Month (Dec 1-31) - a donation will be made by Dream Blossom proportionate to all consumer sales on our various D2C sites during the month. For my part, I am giving up coffee for the week. Some sleepy mornings await... I also launched our Giving Up Week with a bang, by giving up all bodily comfort for just over 27 non-stop hours during a 110 km distance, 5000 m of climbing ultra trail run last weekend, so my muscles are giving me constant reminders of our cause... :) Wishing everyone a wonderful end to 2024, and for a safe, happy and peaceful 2025 to come.
Nice one mate. I did not know you could run, let alone 110km.
Cameron Nagatomo very impressive on all fronts! All the best as you continue to give through December… looking forward to seeing you in Nuremberg!
Well done Cameron and Team Dream Blossom. Two fantastic initiatives. Congrats on the Trail Run!

2dGiving up coffee for a week? Are you mad? I can go without alcohol for extended periods (this year, I managed eight months), but coffee? Absolutely not—I’m hopelessly hooked on my daily caffeine fixes. As for running... let's just say I’m more suited to comfort than hitting the track! Well done Cameron Nagatomo!
