HubSpot's Social Media Trends Report is always packed full of insightful information — and here are some of my key takeaways. ➔ "This year, YouTube took over as the most effective social media platform for brands — growing by 79% year over year and overtaking juggernauts Instagram and Facebook." [There still — and will most likely always be — a high demand for short-form video. However, that does not mean long-form should be counted on. 96% of brands reported that longer-form videos had a very high ROI for them.] ➔ "Memes and funny posts are outperforming highly-produced, product focused content." [We already knew this — but people come to social media to be entertained + inspired, not to be sold a product.] ➔ People want to hear from people, not brands. Winning in social in 2024 and beyond looks like partnering with individual creators + influencers to increase brand awareness and reach new audiences.
