Day 1 of GTNF Conferences 2024 and we’re straight into one of the biggest challenges, how to innovate in a Regulated Environment. Hosted by Valerie Briggs Solomon with Lillian Ortega, Laura Leigh Oyler, Lindsey Stroud and Dr. Jessica Zdinak as panelists, this esteemed panel provided great insight and food for thought on current regulatory processes and the need to change to align regulations with consumer needs and rapid innovation. Both the US and UK have serious issues in that the current regulations are not allowing products that consumers want. Therefore, where enforcement is weak, opportunists have an open market to tap in to. In a rapidly evolving landscape, traditional (and burdensome) regulations can result in many unintended consequences. The usual reaction = more regulation!!! It’s always ‘easier said than done’, but how can we implement agile based regulations that can rapidly adapt based on ensuring consumer needs are met, whilst ensuring the relative safety of the products? #GTNF #smokefree #smokefreefuture
