Actually, the best place to practice your business pitch is at the booth. My Thai Uncle taught me that when I was first at a booth selling his Italian FRAMEC cabinet refrigerator at 16 years old at the Queen Sirikit Convention. The lesson was business is all about human connections through literally talking to your users and understanding their needs not selling but telling them a story that fulfills their desire (that was back in the 90s, now we call it pain point). Thirty years later still at the front of my workforce selling on the ground literally every show exhibition. #pitch #businesspitch #startuplife

The Fail Forward Project is one that is both exciting and scary. Scary because we don't talk about failure enough. Failure is taboo. We do everything we can to avoid experiencing it or talking about it. Even when it is mentioned, it's spun as this one-dimensional event that eventually led to some kind of success, and the success itself takes center stage. And yes, while failure can be, and often is, the catalyst behind many successes, we hardly sit with it long enough to do it justice. This project aims to give us the space to do just that. Come, let's unpack failure in all it's dimensions. Let's discuss the different ways we define it and myriad feelings associated with it: the fear, the disappointment, and the uncertainty. I'm excited about this project because it allows us destigmatize failure and appreciate it as a vital part of the learning process. By listening to the stories of other human beings who botched something (or thought they did), we build resilience for when we inevitably face our own failures. If you can make it, come to the inaugural Fail Forward event, listen to incredible stories, and share yours too. If you’re in Any industry and want to focus on the customer experience I suggest checking Encircle out. They have the very best user experience, suite of resources, customer support, a cool free app that not enough restoration companies are using to OWN direct from consumer residential work, and the “styling” of everything they do from colors and fonts and website interactivity and webinars and follow up is absolutely right behind “cutting edge” which means all of it works. If you want to get an education on how your client should feel ,honestly even if you didn’t need the app in your industry it would be well worth it for you to have for a year to study them. Job managing apps in restoration vary so much with the varying needs of contractors so I won’t pinpoint which ones are “the best”, but you will not find any better stack of customer centric layout than Encircle has. *and if you find one share it below or DM me so I can study it, industry and niche doesn’t matter.
