5G radio IS440.1 now available! The intrinsically safe #5G radio for use in explosion hazardous areas fulfills the handling requirements of conventional radios, but employ new technologies and can initially be deployed together with PMR radios. By using the IS440.1 in existing public or private (campus) networks or via Wi-Fi, secure and satble communication is guaranteed. The 5G radio uses PTT via third-party PTT applications and can be semlessly paired with classic analogue devices for group communication via a gateway. More information about the integration and the possible use case scenarios in this video https://lnkd.in/eSqhGncF

Sub-band free radios may sound great, but they're larger, heavier, and more expensive than dedicated frequency radios. Is the limited flexibility worth the hassle? I was reading up on the latest Auracast info, and took a look at some new products out there. Wow! A real surprise.. So, I work for a place that knows a thing or two about transmitting a radio signal.. One product stated: 30 mW @ 2.4GHz with internal antennas "promising" 100 meter range.. quite sure thats a claim with caveats. Auracast occupies 40 frequencies in the 2.4GHz band. Whats the max amount of transmitters? What if every manufacturer out there starts adding auracast transmitters to their products? The most suprising was +60 ms latency! Sennheiser Mobileconnect comes in way below that. I have personally measured 39ms at a university, and it runs on a existing wifi infrastructure. Pretty sure there will be good development on Auracast, but I did find this underwhelming.. for now. #AssistiveListening #Hearingloss #TechForGood #Accessibility #HearingAids #DisabilityAwareness
