Quantum technologies, which work with individual particles like atoms and photons, have immense processing power and can't be hacked, making them highly valuable for computing, communication, and sensing. The World Economic Forum has collaborated with IBM and SandboxAQ to outline a framework called the Quantum Economy Blueprint. This blueprint aims to make quantum technology accessible to all nations and societies while ensuring responsible development, economic growth, and job creation. It provides guidance on developing national quantum strategies, broadening access to quantum technology, raising awareness, building a quantum-literate workforce, and addressing cybersecurity threats. In essence, the goal is to build a safe and inclusive 'quantum economy' that benefits society, promotes sustainability, and enhances the welfare of future generations.

Quantum Quandary: NSA's nightmare scenario The National Security Agency (NSA) is deeply concerned about the potential ramifications of a quantum computing breakthrough by adversaries, fearing it could compromise global security. NSA Director of Research Gil Herrera warned of the possibility of a "black swan" event, an unforeseen quantum leap in technology that could have devastating consequences for U.S. national security. The global economy, particularly the U.S. market, faces significant vulnerability as most financial transactions rely on encryption that could be compromised by quantum technology, leading to potential disruptions in financial systems. The threat extends beyond financial sectors, with potential risks to industries such as nuclear weapons production, as encrypted information could be compromised, posing a significant challenge to national security. The NSA has been proactive in researching quantum-resistant algorithms and deploying encryption measures to safeguard national security applications, but efforts to understand adversaries' quantum capabilities are ongoing. What is "black #swan event"? National Security Agency anticipates potential 'black swan' #quantumcomputing breakthrough. The National Security Agency (NSA) is bracing for a possible quantum computing advancement by global adversaries, potentially jeopardizing global economic security and enabling foes to access top-secret communication systems. NSA's Director of Research, Gilbert Herrera, emphasized the gravity of such a breakthrough, which could compromise encryption systems currently safeguarding financial transactions and sensitive communications, including those related to nuclear weapons. As per a The Washington Times report, speaking at an Intelligence and National Security Alliance event, Herrera outlined the catastrophic scenario where a sudden development in quantum technology, termed a "black swan event," could have severe implications for US national security. "If this black swan event happens, then we’re really screwed," he said, highlighting the dire consequences of such a technological leap. The implications of a #quantum advancement are vast, with potential risks to the world economy, particularly the US market, as it relies heavily on encryption systems for securing financial transactions. A breach in these systems could force financial institutions to revert to outdated transaction methods, leaving them scrambling for alternative security measures, the Washington Times report said. The threat extends beyond the financial sector, with other industries potentially less equipped to handle such quantum disruptions. Herrera also expressed concerns over the long-term impact, including the possibility of adversaries decrypting sensitive information previously believed to be secure. Amid growing worries about China's computing capabilities, US policymakers are keeping a close eye on Beijing's quantum computing efforts. Although spending more does not guarantee technological supremacy, as noted by retired Gen. Paul Nakasone, the potential of quantum computing far exceeds that of current supercomputers. The NSA is proactively addressing these concerns by deploying quantum-resistant algorithms and enhancing its understanding of adversarial quantum capabilities. Herrera reassured that the NSA's efforts in quantum-resistant encryption, applied to key national security domains, aim to safeguard against potential quantum attacks. As the race towards quantum computing accelerates, the NSA, along with other US agencies, remains vigilant, exploring the technological landscape to prevent being blindsided by unforeseen advancements. https://lnkd.in/gB2E2cCH Chowkidar.Club targetgroup.ltd koranad.in #Riser Madura Coats Private Ltd
