Last week I did an interview focused on TOOL Global 500 Female Founders of Ocean & New Energy, where women from 100 countries are recognized and celebrated for their founder journeys. Among the questions I got, was "why did you decide to map female founders and create this initiative?" My question back was that I can´t fathom why this wasn´t already done earlier. Female founders are under-represented, under-financed and under the radar - and even more so in our industries. At the same time, a growing number of studies and reports show a clear business case of investing in more diverse companies. In this context, it was about time to share a bit more of my personal experience and the motivation behind WHY this is needed, so log into TOOL Spawn and our Female Founders space to learn more 💙 Our Female Founders initiative seek to put our TOOL capabilities at use, addressing this on a higher and more collaborative level - while achieving several positive outcomes: 1) Make it easy to find female founders! Improve transparency and connectivity - through an accessible, living and growing map of current and new female founders - providing our global partners from entrepreneur supporting organisations with a much broader relevant pipeline of cases. 2) Enable the power of collaboration & cross-fertilization, within the very diverse global group of founders. We believe in the power of enabling commercial/customer agreements, industrial partnerships, and structuring multi-startup offerings to industry stakeholders. 3) Provide founders with better overview and access to relevant and accessible growth resources - across accelerators, funding ecosystem, cluster programs, door openers, landing pads in new markets, mentors, competitions, industrial advisors and pilot customers 4) Compile and enable anonymized information and intel on the current state of female entrepreneurship in our industries - what founders need, barieers and opportunities, and identify key critical issues to improve for our industries specifically. 5) Bring out a world of female founder role models and influencers, inspiring more girls & women to join our industries and hopefully finding their own path towards an entrepreneurial journey. 6) Invite and challenge our partners across various entrepreneur supporting organisations to join us in setting clear ambitions and commitments to diversify their initiatives and ensure that resources reach a much higher degree of diverse founders.
