In the vibrant world of fashion, the name Saaki is making waves. Co-founded by actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu and former Miss India, Sushruthi Krishna this ethnic wear label burst onto the scene in 2020 with a vision that blends elegance and accessibility. From its humble beginnings to becoming a global sensation, Saaki represents a unique fusion of modern sophistication and traditional charm. Their partnership began when a mutual acquaintance introduced them, each seeking not just a business venture but a chance to build a brand with lasting impact. Their shared vision was to democratize ethnic wear—offering premium quality at affordable prices in a market that was largely fragmented and priced beyond reach for many. Sushruthi reflects on their initial days, noting how their journey was punctuated by the global pandemic. “We launched Saaki just as the world was entering lockdown,” she recounts. “It was a challenge, but we used that time to understand the evolving market and harness the rise of direct-to-consumer models. This strategic pause helped us refine our approach and align with new consumer trends.” In just two years, Saaki has grown into a multi-crore enterprise with an international footprint. The brand’s success is largely attributed to its organic growth—powered by Samantha and Sushruthi’s genuine love for their creations. “We haven’t spent on social media ads,” Sushruthi notes. “Our customers see us wearing Saaki and that drives brand recognition.” Saaki’s range includes kurtas, sarees, and contemporary ethnic wear, all priced between Rs 2,300 and Rs 2,800. Like any entrepreneurial journey, Saaki faced challenges—particularly with supply chain management. “Managing production across different regions has been tough,” Sushruthi admits. “We’re exploring the possibility of establishing a dedicated production unit to streamline our operations.” Despite these hurdles, Saaki’s international expansion is thriving. With a presence in over 15 countries, including the US, UK, and Australia, the brand is tapping into the global Indian diaspora. “Our goal is to ‘make in India for the world,’” Sushruthi says. “The Indian diaspora abroad is a significant market, and we aim to cater to their fashion needs.” Saaki’s future plans include diversifying into new categories like kids’ wear and home decor. The brand’s growth strategy is focused on enhancing customer engagement, expanding distribution, and maintaining its core values of accessibility and style. In this golden era of women entrepreneurship, Saaki stands as a beacon of what’s possible when passion meets purpose. With its commitment to style, comfort, and accessibility, Saaki is not just a brand but a movement—empowering women and celebrating the timeless beauty of ethnic wear on a global stage.Madhuri Awande Visit our website: https://lnkd.in/dwVWAA33 #womenfounder #startup #entrepreneur #fashion #d2c #ethnicwear

Women’s fashion is a constantly evolving industry, reflecting broader changes in culture, technology, and individual expression. Today’s fashion is more versatile and inclusive than ever, embracing sustainable practices, diverse body types, and gender-neutral aesthetics. 1. Sustainable Fashion With increasing awareness of environmental impacts, sustainable fashion is now a significant focus. Brands are adopting eco-friendly materials, such as organic cotton, recycled polyester, and even innovative options like mushroom leather. Slow fashion, which emphasizes quality over quantity, is also gaining momentum as people seek to reduce their carbon footprint by buying timeless, durable pieces. 2. Power Suits and Tailoring The power suit is making a strong comeback, with oversized blazers, high-waisted trousers, and bold shoulders that exude confidence. This look, often worn as a complete suit or mixed with casual pieces, shows that traditional menswear-inspired tailoring has become a staple for women looking to make a statement in professional and social settings. 3. Street Style Influence Streetwear has heavily influenced women’s fashion, blending comfort with style. Oversized hoodies, graphic tees, baggy jeans, and chunky sneakers have found their way into mainstream fashion. This trend allows for more personal expression and flexibility, mixing luxury items with casual pieces for a unique look. 4. Athleisure and Activewear Athleisure has blurred the lines between workout gear and everyday wear. From yoga pants and sports bras to matching activewear sets, this trend prioritizes comfort without sacrificing style. Brands like Lululemon and Nike have been at the forefront, creating pieces that seamlessly transition from the gym to casual outings. 5. Bold Colors and Patterns Bright colors and statement patterns are in, with many designers embracing vivid hues like fuchsia, electric blue, and lime green. Animal prints, especially leopard and zebra, as well as polka dots and tie-dye, continue to be popular, allowing wearers to add a splash of fun and individuality to their wardrobes. 6. Accessories as Statements Accessories, such as oversized sunglasses, statement belts, chunky jewelry, and mini handbags, are used to complete and elevate any outfit. Layered jewelry and personalized pieces, like necklaces with initials or birthstones, are also trending, offering a blend of glamour and personal touch. https://lnkd.in/d_MC6_Fq

The fashion market in India is evolving and here are the factors driving this trend. #LIPostingChallenge #LinkedInNewsIndia Consumers are beginning to shun “Fast Fashion” and now demand sustainability from brands across all industries. A survey from Simon-Kuchar & Partners found that 87% of respondents are willing to change the products and brands they use if it makes their lives more environmentally friendly. The modern industry, based around firms or fashion houses run by individual designers, started in the 19th century with Charles Frederick Worth who, beginning in 1858, was the first designer to have his label sewn into the garments he created. Fashion started when humans began wearing clothes. A real trend is a group of products or a style that becomes fashionable for some time and influences masses of customers, brands, and products. A fashion trend occurs when a particular item, silhouette, color, or other new look rises in popularity. Many factors can influence a trend or fad, including iconic celebrity outfits, fashion merchandising firms, designer shows, and textile manufacturers

This doesn’t come as a surprise, but still interesting: According to a report from fashion reseller Vestiaire Collective, buying used high-end goods is 33% more affordable than buying new fast fashion based on cost-per-wear metrics. Perhaps more surprisingly that already now on average, “U.S. consumers spent almost half of their 2023 clothing budget on secondhand items”, according to Fashion Dive. This should be good news for high-end/high-quality brands, and perhaps the start of a positive cycle where the willingness to pay more first hand for a high-quality product increases, since chances are good there’ll be a good chunk to claim back reselling the same. This will again increase the assortment of high-quality items available on resale platforms. Secondhand high-end items are also worn much more compared to fast fashion pieces, so what we really see here are signs of a market moving in the direction that regulatory authorities want before the regulations are here. Exciting times! https://lnkd.in/d_7T-SAv
