"I hope you don't lose confidence in me as a team member if I take it easy and enjoy the summer months." That's what one of my team members at Quantum Franchise Group said to me a few weeks ago. I reminded her that we all do this work that we do so that we can live the lives we want to live. Everyone on our team, at one point or another, has tasted the bitter taste of employment captivity, living and working under the oppression of corporate overlords, waking up from our dreams of freedom to face another day as W2 minions in toxic workplaces. And then we set ourselves free. And that's what makes everyone on this team so good at what we do. We just had a great candidate drop out because she was caught up in a Fortune 50 corporate downsizing. Her intent was to build up a Hudson Valley Swim business while she continued to work and then jump ship from her corporate job to run her business full time. The candidate had the right thought process just a little too late and had her plans cut out from under her. Everyone in the corporate world should be working on their Plan B so that they have a Plan A lines up WHEN it happens!
