Crossposting. You either love it, or you hate it. Now everyone...take a deep breath when we say this. Crossposting isn't all that bad. And here is why. Crossposting comes down to two key things: understanding your audience, and quality vs quantity. Quantity over quality is a huge debate between marketers and clients: marketers know that spamming our followers with content can be detrimental to engagement, our clients take a lack of a consistent presence to be alarming and counterproductive. This is where the concept of crossposting has come in, marketers can post a consistent amount of content across all social media platforms, whilst maintaining the integrity of the quality of content. The catch here is that cross-posting has earned a reputation for being poorly thought out, and lazy. So we are going to spin your perspective a little bit and tell you our approach to crossposting because, to us, it's more about knowing your audience. Think of a campaign for one of your clients who is giving back to the community by offering a free service. Who will that appeal to more, Gen Z or Gen X? Both? Okay, so you post it on both Facebook and Instagram. Think of the subtle foreshadowing trend. Your client has just stacked it in a video he sent you. Who will that trend appeal to more, Gen Z or Gen X? Gen Z? Okay, so you post it on Instagram and TikTok. For some marketers, crossposting is a fundamental part of keeping clients happy, but the key to executing it successfully is being objective, and thinking does this content appeal to the main demographic of the platform I'm posting it on? #socialmediahottake #marketinghottake #crossposting #socialmediamarketing #digitalmarketingagency

Want to know how to get broader online engagement, and stay up to date on the trends that drive action online? Spoiler alert: It's negative content. Recently, there's been a the shift away from social media post sharing, and towards engagement within enclosed message groups instead. The trend is clear: Social media apps are gradually becoming more valued as entertainment sources, while actual interaction shifts to smaller, enclosed chats and communities. Does that mean that social media is useless for websites looking to drive traffic? Well, no, as the brand awareness benefits would still be significant, while there would still be some correlation between exposure and link clicks, even if it is more minor than expected. “Despite there being more positive coverage in our article sample, social engagement was higher per article among negative articles.” Given the engagement that comes with negative content, you can also see how these simplified takes gain traction online. My opinion: I do not condone posting negative content just to get engagement. That could reflect badly on your brand or company. I simply found this article to be interesting and thought you might want to know how much social media marketing has changed, so you can pivot your social media strategy appropriately.
