Collaborating with long-term partners isn't about going through the same rinse-and-repeat process. It's about continuously evolving to meet their changing needs. Over 7 years after we designed and developed our first site with Chicago History Museum, it was time for an upgrade. This time, we focused on delivering the most critical features first, then worked on the rest in phases. Taking a new approach provided immediate value while also laying the groundwork for lasting success. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #BuiltByClique

"Making your way in the world today takes everything you've got." While in Boston this week, I could have visited Boston Common, Museum of Fine Arts, or the JFK Presidential Museum & Library, but a top priority on my agenda was Cheers, the setting for one of the best sitcoms ever! When reflecting on the great theme song for Cheers, the lyrics are almost a parody for business... Essentially, we all have obstacles to get through, but connecting with people in an authentic way can transcend those obstacles. So here's to old friends and newly cultivated relationships in Boston, the city "where everybody knows your name... And they're always glad you came!" #CapitalMarkets, #InvestmentSales, #CRE, #CommercialRealEstate, #RealEstateInvestment

What color should we do next?
Both Keystone Arch's are finally complete for Grand Rapids Children's Museum. The client wanted an extra challenge so we created it without numbers 😅 We have a hard time putting it together with numbers so let's see how it goes 😅 For more info please contact us at: https://lnkd.in/dgg8Y3Ac #softplay #rainbow #arch #engineering #teamwork #keystonearch #kids #museums

"Alter Echoes" out now! My latest project just released at Curated by Girls. “Alter Echoes,” a collaborative project by photographer Shari Annabell Marks and Movement Director Marie Zechiel, explores the dynamic nature of identity. Through four chapters, the work delves into diverse personalities, presenting them like museum statues. It challenges the idea of a fixed identity, instead celebrating the multiple versions of ourselves that emerge over time. Shari and Marie’s collabo-ration offers a thought-provoking perspective on the ongoing evolution of the self. https://lnkd.in/erK_rja5

As we grow over the years we must look to our more analogue establishments and identify what it is that keeps them thriving as social spaces. My new role in Hanwell Community Library has given me a fresh perspective on the world of perceived analogue structures; what can they tell us about what we value as people? 👇🏽 👇🏽 👇🏽 👇🏽 When we see #libraries is it solely the books or more the shared experience of searching for books, reading, the activities, the humanity? 📚 When we see #cinemas is it solely the films or more the shared experience of the anticipation, the emotion, the humanity? 🎥 When we see #museums is it solely the artifacts or more the shared experience of the history, the context, the humanity? 🎨 Our analogue spaces are often deemed passive, but they encompass the most active, pure experiences of humanity, the ones we are able to share with one another, the ones that leave an ever lasting impression on our experience of the world. 💝 🆘 🆘 🆘 We must support these spaces, by investing our time, our presence, and money where our humanity thrives - for our own social survival. #community #communityspace #communityspaces #thirdspaces #thirdspace #londoncommunity #londonthirdspaces

Christie's auction house is currently auctioning off The Paul G. Allen Collection - a trove of historic artifacts and memoriabilia from space, computing, and science. It's an extraordinary bounty of stuff, from Albert Einstein letters to NASA space suits to Cray supercomputers. And I find it all a little sad. Allen, the co-founder of Microsoft who died in 2018, was of course a billionaire many times over. And his philanthropy did a lot of good in the world, in particular in the Seattle area where he founded research institutes and museums. But this auction showcases a lot of *stuff* - very cool, very expensive stuff - that probably brought him pleasure during his life, and I'm sure he spent a lot of time tracking this stuff down and cataloging all this stuff, but in the end it's just...stuff. And now that he's gone, they're selling all the stuff, and the collection he spent so much energy and money putting together is being sold off, piece by piece. A lot of super-wealthy people start collections and become self-taught experts in particular niches of stuff. But I do wonder if it's all just a distraction, and even a waste of time. What we all need is less stuff, and more time with people. Anyway, here's a link to all the stuff. It's fun to look at. https://lnkd.in/gE654z85

Eight years ago, during my tenure as Curator of Collections and Exhibitions at the Roswell Museum, I started learning about federal community art centers, a remarkable New Deal initiative that remains one of the most expansive art-sharing programs in the history of the United States. Ever since I learned about this program, I've wanted to map its history digitally so that researchers could follow the movement of art exhibitions, observe the opening and closing of art centers, and trace the migrations of art center personnel as they were assigned to different sites. Today, I'm happy to share I've taken a first step toward this long-term goal by creating a StoryMap about federal community art centers. Here, I share all the information I've learned about them since 2016, from the addresses of specific sites to the contents of circulating exhibitions. This StoryMap, in short, represents eight years of ongoing research and analysis. More than a repository for my research though, this project is an invitation to other researchers interested in federal community art centers. I'm asking everyone interested in this initiative to share their data so we can compile all our research in one place. This program is too vast for one person to document, and I know there are others as passionate about it as I am. So let's get together and share our data. Together, we can document this significant but understudied initiative. #newdeal #digitalhumanities #federalcommunityartcenter https://lnkd.in/eenEHd_p
