This has been an incredible experience to be part of the Duggan Administration as we all have worked hard to revitalize our city. Mayor Mike Duggan has challenged and supported us to achieve excellence for the benefit of Detroiters, advancing the work and community engagement. I have learned a great deal from him. Thank you, Mayor.

Warrior to Love: Show-Up I recently had an inspiring meeting with Councilman Michael Boylan from Jacksonville City Council District 6. It reminded me of the power of community engagement and the importance of taking action to drive change. Years ago, I considered a political career, but my wife and I decided it wasn't the right path for us. Instead, I focused on connecting with our local representatives, believing that true change starts with us. During our conversation, we discussed the book "A Quiet Revolution," which explores the history of Jacksonville's consolidation. Jacksonville Historical Society Both Councilman Boylan and I share a passion for history and a vision for progress in our city. We reflected on the challenges and the numerous failed attempts to unite and advance Jacksonville over the years. One of the biggest questions remains: how do you unite a community divided in the largest city by land mass in the USA? While I am still working on the answer, I know that getting involved and building relationships is a significant step forward. As a private citizen, I've had the privilege of connecting with some of the best professionals and actively participating in our community. My passion lies in solving problems and fostering resilience in relationships. Nothing happens unless you make it happen. It takes everyone to participate in creating and sustaining livable communities. Everything starts with you! Let's take action, show up, and work together to make City of Jacksonville the best place to live on earth. #CommunityEngagement #LocalLeadership #Jacksonville #WarriorToLove #ShowUp #Inspiration #TakeAction

Thrilled to share that Fort Greene, Brooklyn has been recognized as one of the "nicest places in America" by Reader's Digest! 🏆🌳 As a real estate professional, I've always known this neighborhood was special, but it's wonderful to see it receive national recognition. Here's what makes Fort Greene stand out: 1. Cultural richness: Home to iconic institutions and a thriving film scene (Spike Lee's stomping grounds!) 2. Community spirit: Tight-knit neighbors who look out for each other 3. Beautiful surroundings: Tree-lined streets, brownstones, and a stunning park 4. Diversity: A melting pot of cultures and backgrounds 5. Safety initiatives: Local organizations like Switching Lifestylez working to reduce youth violence What truly sets Fort Greene apart is the dedication of its residents to continually improve their community. From walking kids home from school to organizing job training events, the people here are committed to making their neighborhood even better. As Crystal Hudson, the local Councilmember, put it: "It's amazing and comes as no surprise. This is an amazing neighborhood." For those considering a move to Brooklyn, Fort Greene should definitely be on your radar. It's not just a place to live; it's a community to be part of. Have you experienced the magic of Fort Greene? What's your favorite Brooklyn neighborhood and why? #BrooklynRealEstate #FortGreene #CommunitySpirit #NYCLiving #TopPropertiesTeam #RealBrokerLLC #RealBrokerage

BCU President & CEO Joe Sobieralski said, “For more than 50 years, BCU has had unrivaled success attracting companies and creating jobs in Battle Creek. This new strategic plan builds on our past success and expands our focus to have the greatest impact on Battle Creek. As the needs of our community change, so too must BCU change in response. Growing our economy today requires that we include more community development, which includes housing, placemaking, and community revitalization. We want to lead on this front and develop a reputation as a leader in Michigan, the Midwest, and the country.” View the full press release as well as a link to view the plan in its entirety here: https://lnkd.in/gu9YgJ_i #economicdevelopment #battlecreek #michigan #strategicplan

Hello All, Let's get real. This project is another masterpiece of Mr. Steven Levene/COO of Metrolinx. The steel span Through Plate Girder over existing Tracks at Newmarket 4.90 Davenport has many structural concerns. Mr. steven leven/(current COO of Metrolinx/ by then VP of RailCiorridor) decided to create a Risk Assessment Team Meeting (on Friday, June 4, 2021 1:30 PM-3:30 PM, ) and chaired this Team meeting. Created +/-35 pages of check marks, and he concluded that: all are good, the Case Closed! The above case was opened by an engineer (Name DELETED] of RailCorridor to begin with. the steel span was a Through Plate Girder, TPG, +/-100 ft long, double track, and amazingly, Direct Fixation. Why Direct Fixation instead of Ballasted Deck? Everyone knows that Direct Fixation will reduce the life-span of the bridge from +100 years to around 30 years. well Metrolinx has the answer!!! Also, the girders have top and bottom flange splices, as well as web splices exactly at the same location: one series on the North side of the span and one series on the south side. the above splices means that the weakest point of the top flange is aligned with the weakest point of the web and aligned with the weakest point of bottom flange, at two separate locations, one on the North side and one on the south side. you do the math!!! If you want more information, please let me know. Also, on September 18th and 19th, 2024, in Louisville, Kentucky, during the Arema Annual Conference, Metrolinx gave a presentation regarding the elevated bridge at Davenport Diamond, Newmarket sub/MX, and New Toronto Sub/(of a real railway). Ironically, Metrolinx did not talk about this portion (steel double track TOG crossing over the existing tracks of another railway) of the project. the bridge designer was not part of the presenter team. The bridge contractor was not part of the presenter team. I doubt that there was even a representative of the actual designer and the actual contractor team at Arema 2024. The people at the Arema Conf. 2024 were asking why? Well, the answer is: there is a series of serious issues with that steel span bridge over the New Toronto Tracks. Stay tuned for more info. @phil verster /CEO Metrolinx Steven Levene/ COO Metrolinx Metrolinx regards Siamak Khajehpour, P.Eng.
Thank you, Davenport community! Join us for ice cream and a visit from GO Bear this Sunday, September 15 from 1-4pm at Campbell Park as we express our gratitude for your support while we completed important Davenport Diamond rail intersection improvements in your neighbourhood.

"City and Caltrans staff have a certain level of technical training, but it is really the folks in the neighborhoods and school sites who are the best source of information regarding existing conditions, as well as what types of solutions and improvements will actually be of use in the community." Mario Anaya, community development director of the City of Tulare, shares in our latest Safety Story of his work to improve safety for those who walk, bike, and roll in Tulare, including with the Comunidades Activas y Seguras (CAyS) program.
