During the NeuroSummer Omind Neurotechnologies workshop in Paris yesterday, I learned more about the essential skills needed to work effectively with artificial intelligence (AI). Thanks to your brilliant exposition Clarisse Pamies Nicolas Bassan Ludovic Cinquin Among other topics, the speakings emphasized the importance of cognitive skills over emotional ones in this context: 1/Curiosity and Tolerance for Uncertainty One of the key takeaways was the significance of curiosity combined with tolerance for uncertainty. Curiosity drives the exploration of new ideas and the asking of pertinent questions, while tolerance for uncertainty helps navigate situations where answers are not immediately clear. These qualities are vital for adapting to the rapid technological advancements and changing work environments. 2/Cognitive Flexibility Cognitive flexibility was highlighted as another crucial skill. This ability involves changing perspectives when faced with the same problem, which helps in viewing situations from different angles. This reduces cognitive biases and promotes a more objective analysis. Developing cognitive flexibility allows one to step back from personal biases and utilize information more critically and effectively. 3/Critical Analysis and Objectivity The ability to critically analyze content and data was also stressed. This includes questioning assumptions and validating information to make better use of it. By reducing cognitive biases, one can make more informed and relevant decisions. Do you have any comments about it? Are you concerned about AI? What do managers need to develop with AI? Feel free to send me DM to get more imformation about our Omind tools!😀🙏🏻 BTI Coaching #Neuroscience #AI #FutureOfAI #CompetenciesWithAI #Selfawareness #Brain #CognitiveAgility

Can AI Become Conscious? Exciting new research is tackling a mind-bending question: Could AI systems become conscious? Here's what you need to know: 🔬 Wanja Wiese (Institute of Philosophy at Ruhr-Universität Bochum in Germany) is exploring which AI systems are unlikely to be conscious. Why? To avoid accidentally creating conscious AI and to prevent deception by AI that seems conscious but isn't. He refers to renowned British neuroscientist Karl Friston’s Free Energy Principle. According to this Principle, the processes that ensure the continued existence of a self-organizing system such as a living organism can be described as a type of information processing. 🧠 Key finding: The way information flows in our brains vs. computers might be crucial for consciousness. Unlike computers, our brains don't separate data storage, processing, and retrieval. 💡 Implications for us: 1. Ethics in AI development: As professionals, we need to consider the moral implications of potentially creating conscious AI. 2. Critical thinking: Don't be fooled by seemingly conscious AI. Stay skeptical and informed. 3. Human-AI collaboration: Understanding the limits of AI consciousness can help us leverage AI as a tool while recognizing the unique value of human consciousness in decision-making and creativity. 4. Reskilling and upskilling: As AI capabilities grow, focus on developing skills that rely on human consciousness and emotional intelligence. 5. Privacy and data protection: If AI systems become more sophisticated, we may need to rethink how we protect personal and corporate data. What are your thoughts on AI "consciousness"? How do you see it impacting your industry? My passion is neuroscience and its practical applications. Reach out to me if you are interested in my Consulting and Neuroscience-based Executive Coaching. I also teach the course Mindfulness-Based Strategic Awareness Training (MBSAT) Version 1 and Version 2, based on the protocols developed by Prof Juan Humberto Young. Version 2 is the updated protocol based on Karl Friston's Free Energy Principle. MBSAT is a protocol for Leadership and Decision-Making, ideal for C-suite and Managers to optimise their strategic thinking, awareness, and performance in personal and professional life. There is an excellent documentary on Arte explaining how now AI could be more understanding than personal contact. And the most impressive conclusion is how AI could generate more comfort compared to actual social support. Being heard could help in a great way. Mental health is a big public health issue and how we must act depends also how we conceived the human being and the actual society.
