🌱PPP NEWS 🌱 🚨 Important Update for Plant Protection Product (PPP) Companies: Focus on Safeners and Synergists! 🚨 The European Commission published a list of safeners and synergists on July 19, 2024. Following this, companies now have until December 19, 2024, to notify the Commission of any “other substances or preparations potentially used as safeners or synergists in plant protection products” that have been authorized. It’s crucial for industry stakeholders to stay proactive and ensure compliance with this deadline. There are also additional deadlines to keep in mind, though they are further down the line: By December 19, 2024: Any interested party may submit a notification of other safeners and synergists not listed by the Commission. By June 19, 2025: Interested parties can request that a listed safener or synergist be included in the EU’s review programme. These parties will then be considered as applicants for approval. If no request is submitted, the safener or synergist will not be reviewed. By December 2025: The Commission will adopt a work programme, specifying which safeners and synergists will be reviewed and assigning the responsible EU Member State (rapporteur). By June 19, 2028: Applicants must submit an approval application to the designated rapporteur Member State. Properly identifying and reporting safeners and synergists can significantly impact product effectiveness and market access. 💧 Reduction in water usage and disposal costs in a pharmaceutical laboratory💧 Every producer in the pharmaceutical industry knows that water is an essential part of the production process. Unfortunately, an excess of contaminated water means high disposal costs. A large research laboratory in a well-known international pharmaceutical company was generating 4 tons of wastewater daily.
