What has happened to basic salaries and fees in the recruitment industry ? I ask this as there really seems to be no forward movement in recent years and if anything we are going backwards. 25 years ago when I started doing this job of recruiting recruiters if I placed a 2 year professional construction recruiter or building services recruiter in London they would get £25K and I’d invoice 25% so a fee of £6250 Move forward quarter of a century and now that same recruiter in London would get £35K and I`d invoice 20% so a fee of £7000. Not much change. The only area I see salaries increasing continue to be in business development or exceptional 360 recruiters within emerging niche sectors such as offshore wind and data centre construction. Clients seem to not want to entertain paying anyone over £60K in this current market and no new managerial roles are materialising. How are salaries in your recruitment sector? I imagine in areas such as professional construction they have more than doubled in the last 25 years for positions such as Contracts Managers, Project Managers and so on 🤔
