Went to the dentist today... I was reminded of my childhood dentist and his bedside manner. At the end of the visit he had a little toy room where you could pick out a ring, collectible or some kind of accessory. It made you want to go to the dentist as you were always excited to see what new kinds of treasure you would find in there. Taking a potentially bad experience you expected to have and flipping it into something fun and engaging. Recruitment is abit of the same thing. Alot of people are expecting a bad experience, or have been burned by a recruiter in the past. I called a lead the other day, he told me immediately to send him candidates but he wouldn't sign a contract because he had been burned by recruiters. Abit silly since the contract was a trial one where he would only pay at hire. But his expectation of things were so bad that he automatically assumed I would screw him over.
