From BRIQUE's Desk!!! During the India AI Summit, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced significant investments in AI compute infrastructure to bolster India's AI ecosystem. The government plans to establish a high-end scalable AI computing environment with over 10,000 GPUs under a public-private partnership. This infrastructure will support the rapidly growing AI startups and research sectors in India. Additionally, an AI marketplace will be developed to offer AI-as-a-service and pre-trained models to innovators. The India AI mission, with a budget of ₹10,372 crore over five years, aims to foster AI innovation through initiatives such as developing foundational models, streamlining access to quality datasets, and promoting AI application development in critical sectors like healthcare, agriculture, and governance. The mission will also focus on enhancing AI education and skills, setting up data and AI labs in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, and supporting deep-tech AI startups with early-stage financing. The mission underscores the government's commitment to making India a global leader in AI by promoting responsible and ethical AI development and deployment. The India AI Innovation Centre will develop and deploy large multimodal models and domain-specific foundational models, while the India AI Application Development Initiative will encourage AI solutions with significant socio-economic impact. By democratizing access to compute power, improving data quality, and fostering collaboration between public and private sectors, the India AI mission aims to drive inclusive growth and enhance India's competitiveness in the global AI landscape. #AIInnovation #DigitalIndia #AIRevolution #BRIQUEsDesk #BRIQUE Source: https://lnkd.in/gG6bn9CM
