Today, we celebrate teachers—the unsung heroes who wear many hats: mentors, motivators, counselors, and guardians of hope. Your classrooms might lack resources, your efforts may sometimes go unnoticed, and your voice may feel unheard, but the impact you make is immeasurable. Every equation solved, every curiosity sparked, every dream nurtured—these are the true legacies you leave behind. For teachers in Nigeria, your resolve is unmatched. Amidst challenges, you stand resilient, creating learning environments where none exist, and guiding young minds toward a brighter tomorrow. Your passion and dedication are the bedrock of a nation’s growth, and your influence goes beyond textbooks—it shapes the very fabric of our society. As we honour you today, let the world remember: teachers are not merely transmitters of knowledge; they are builders of character, shapers of destinies, and architects of a future we all long for. As we celebrate our nation's 64th Independence Day, I can't help but reflect on our journey as educators in this vibrant, complex country of ours. Nigeria, with its rich tapestry of cultures and languages, presents unique challenges and incredible opportunities in education. Every day, in classrooms from Lagos to Maiduguri, we're not just teaching subjects we're shaping the future of our nation. I remember starting my teaching career, bright-eyed and full of hope. That hope hasn't dimmed; it's grown stronger. Because I've seen firsthand the transformative power of education in our communities. To my fellow Nigerian educators: What gives you hope for Nigeria's educational future? How are you innovating in your classroom to prepare our students for tomorrow's challenges? Let's share our stories, our struggles, and our triumphs. Each of us holds a piece of the puzzle in building a stronger, more educated Nigeria. Today, as we celebrate our independence, let's also celebrate our interdependence. Our shared commitment to nurturing the next generation of Nigerian leaders, thinkers, and innovators. Together, we can write a new chapter in Nigeria's story – one of progress, unity, and excellence in education. Happy Independence Day, Nigeria! 🇳🇬🎉 #MoshoodCares #NigeriaAt64 #EducationForProgress #NigerianEducators

As a nation, we need to ensure that our developmental plans take a sound rooting in educational strategies, such that we deliberately grow a pool of people that we will develop along the lines of their strengths and interests to resource our industries for optimum activities, lest we continue to play at the non-competitive ends of the global value chain. https://lnkd.in/eJYG_rMJ

A Call to Action: Reviving Nigeria's Integrity through Education and Culture It is deeply disheartening to witness the rampant corruption and moral decay among individuals entrusted with public service in Nigeria. Even more troubling is the lack of integrity and basic moral standards among the average Nigerian, despite the nation's strong religious foundation. The root of this issue lies in poor foundational education, which has failed to instill core values and principles. In his book "A Promise to the Fatherland" by Wole Oyetayo highlights the transformative tools of nation-building that are often overlooked. Historically, wise societies have harnessed the power of songs, rhymes, and vivid narratives to instill critical values in their people. These cultural tools ensure that essential principles remain deeply ingrained in the collective consciousness. Our National Pledge, though brief, encapsulates the fundamental ideals of patriotism, integrity, and unity. However, its power is underutilized. While every Nigerian child recites the pledge in school, how many truly understand its profound meanings? Each word is loaded with purpose and vision, yet its interpretation and significance are rarely emphasized. This is a missed opportunity to shape a generation with unshakable commitment to their country. To ensure a brighter future, we must prioritize teaching the pledge and the national anthem rigorously and meaningfully. These are more than just words—they are a blueprint for national pride and responsibility. If children are nurtured with these values at their formative stages, they will grow into adults who act with integrity and serve their nation with honor. Equally critical is the role of teachers in this transformation. Teachers must embody the principles they teach, becoming role models of integrity and commitment. Proper motivation and support for educators are essential to ensuring they can effectively instill these values in the next generation. When properly educated and guided, a well-formed Nigerian will act predictably and ethically, even in challenging circumstances. The journey to a better Nigeria begins with raising a generation rooted in morality, integrity, and national pride—and it starts in our classrooms. #education #culture #nigeria #nationalanthem #integrity National Orientation Agency, Nigeria

Non-formal education is essential in preserving Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage. It goes beyond the classroom, embracing community-based learning that includes teaching traditional crafts like weaving, pottery, and beadwork. It also focuses on the preservation of indigenous languages and the sharing of customs and oral histories. By engaging in these practices, non-formal education ensures that the wisdom and traditions of Nigeria’s diverse cultures are passed down from one generation to the next. This method of education helps maintain a deep connection to the past, fosters a sense of identity and pride, and keeps Nigeria's vibrant history and traditions alive for future generations. #Edo #Edobest2.0 #Edodabiread #Education #Educationforall #Educationmatters #Ministryofeducation #Secondchance #Learningisfun #Continuouslearning
