You know when you have found your people, your tribe, your cohort. Everything fits, you laugh til you cry and you feel a huge sense of comfort from being in their presence. In the Blue Zones, people live longer as they have this. They live in close-knit communities that provide social support and a sense of belonging. Positive social connections translates directly to improvements in physical and mental health. Increase the happy, reduce the stress. In the workplace, a strong sense of belonging and community can be fostered. Employees can find their tribe. Training and growing strong managers that actively engage and support their staff sets the tone. Nothing should be too much trouble. Creating space and time for colleagues to work together and to be social creates belonging. You are not trying to lead employees by the hand to their next best friend for life (primary school style) but you are trying to create networks of people who work well together, who ‘gel’, who can grow and work together for the benefit of their mental and physical strength and for the growth and benefit of your organisation. Weeding out the employees that derail the tribe is equally important. These zap energy, create discontent and will ultimately negatively impact your profits. Retuning Your Business - here for the good, the bad and the downright confusing 😉😂 #BlueZones #MentalHealth #WorkplaceCommunities

When was the last time you truly connected with friends? Better yet... How often do you prioritize time with social communities outside of work? If it’s been over a month, this post is for you! Social communities aren’t just a “nice to have”; they’re essential for our survival and mental well-being. Here are some key benefits of nurturing friendships: 👉 Reduce Loneliness: Combat isolation. 👉 Support System: An empathetic ear during tough times. 👉 Authenticity: Encourage your true self. 👉 Shared Experiences: Enjoy life's adventures together. 👉 Well-Being Boost: Time with caring people releases feel-good hormones, lowering anxiety. In today’s tech-driven world, we can build online relationships, but nothing replaces a simple physical hug. Simon Sinek reminds us, abandoning supportive friendships can place unreasonable expectations on romantic partners and workplaces for emotional support. We need a “tribe” or “village” to meet our diverse needs. Life can get busy, but we must prioritize social connections for our mental health. Here are some tips to maintain friendships when you busy: 1️⃣ Jump on a 30-minute virtual call with snacks. 2️⃣ Send goofy jokes or fun memes. 3️⃣ Start a weekend walking group—block out time and let others know you’re unavailable for work. P.S.: My work has introduced me to incredible social communities. Yesterday, I had the pleasure of joining Sizanani programme, where I run youth mental wellness sessions for a funfair. I took taking hip-hop classes with my students. It was a blast! And yes, that’s me in the blue denim cap and jacket 🫣 😅 —still rocking that '90s vibe! #mentalwellness #youth #event #community #support

Supporting self-reliant individuals requires understanding their unique preferences and offering help in a way that respects their independence. Here are some thoughtful ways to provide support: 1. Offer Emotional Support: Let them know you’re available to listen without judgment. Sometimes, simply being there for them can have a positive impact. 2. Respect Their Boundaries: Acknowledge that they value their autonomy and may not always request help. Offer assistance gently without being intrusive. 3. Promote Self-Care: Encourage them to prioritize their well-being and take breaks when necessary. Overworking can lead to fatigue, even for the most independent. 4. Offer Practical Assistance: Help with specific tasks like running errands or completing projects, while allowing them to maintain control. 5. Recognize Their Efforts: Show appreciation for their hard work and determination. Acknowledgment can be a powerful form of support. 6. Be Patient: Understand that they may find it challenging to accept help at first. Offer support consistently and with understanding. 7. Create a Welcoming Environment: Foster a space where they feel comfortable expressing their needs and asking for assistance when necessary. #linkedin #socialmedia #aiwriting #frugallolafindschannel #lolavibeslightstars #chatgpt4 #facebookpost #FacebookPage #SelfCare #Independence #EmotionalSupport #Boundaries #Empathy #WellBeing #SupportSystem #MentalHealth #SelfReliance #Encouragement #HealthyLiving #RespectBoundaries #PositiveMindset #PersonalGrowth #Empowerment
