I co-penned this article about future of governments' ability to shape the public sphere through impact-focused contracting. It is time we innovate the way we buy goods for public interest, and go away from current over-defining contracts that miss out on possibilities to tap innovation while intending to reduce risk. Instead, we should use government funding in funding what creates better outcomes, and utilize big data in better understanding the impacts of products and services that enables our collective goals. I believe the way forward is to establish Impact Markets to realise that vision.
