Once upon a time a lunchtime favorite, now gone thanks to the "business climate." When I see mass closures like this, I always wonder, did executive management truly consider all possible alternatives, whether it be change, pivot, or divestiture? Something tells me often not, they just take the lazy way out. If you are not part of a corporate infrastructure where failure just becomes disclosure on an annual report, you do need to explore every option as an entrepreneur. You owe it to all your stakeholders. We can help. Stony Hill Advisors, Inc.

Special thanks to TAPinto.net - Local News and Digital Marketing for the article. "It is no secret that small businesses are the foundation of the investment economy. And they need to be supported because people who own small businesses don't necessarily have the same access to capital as others," said Plainfield Mayor Adrian Mapp. "And so it is important that we support small businesses everywhere, especially black and brown small businesses that struggle more than others." "Recent, disastrous, horrible marketing decisions like continuous Endless Shrimp, and the “Welcome to Fun Dining” (Not differentiated, ownable, unique to, or delivered by RL) ad line pushed the brand over the line." __________________________________________________________ The more a brand seeks to please customers to get customers, the more they lose customers and the logic is simple: When you make compromises for customers, while they like it in the moment, they subconsciously think you're losing your edge so they emotionally detach and begin to "use" you. Very similar to what gold diggers do in relationships. That ends up impacting your self confidence and you go into "survival" mode. In survival mode, you make more bad decisions and you begin to decline. I have seen this in every form of business. Which is why I champion the marketing without persuading method. It puts you at a pedestal where you don't need to please customers by compromises to keep them. But instead you affect the way they think that they're addicted to the brand/the persons in the brand more than just what they get out of it. This has been the only form of marketing that has seemed to work for companies that are over a century old. It's subtle, it's hard to recognize, but it's effectiveness is out of this world. If you'd like to see how this method works for you, message me and I'd give you a sample for your own brand.

Businesses don’t just fail. As a past fan, and employee, of RL, my sense is that it has been failing over the years for the following reasons: 1) For 20+ years, RL failed to evolve, to address the changing behaviors, wants, needs of customers, and a dynamic and competitive marketplace. 2) Some 20+ years ago, leadership failed to make the right decisions. When a brand is strong, iconic, the effects of those decisions manifest slowly, but then hit the wall rapidly. 3) The script was written for an accelerated decline when RL was sold, its real estate assets sold to assure a short-term return for its buyers rather than investing those resources in a vision, a transformation that was long needed and overdue. 4) The more recent sale to an unsuspecting seafood company with little US restaurant experience, without the expertise or determination to rejuvenate the brand. 5) Recent, disastrous, horrible marketing decisions like continuous Endless Shrimp, and the “Welcome to Fun Dining” (Not differentiated, ownable, unique to, or delivered by RL) ad line pushed the brand over the line. Yes, failure doesn’t just happen, it results from bad decision making, and for large, strong, iconic brands, that failure can occur over an extended period of time. But, they still ultimately hit the wall. #redlobster
