One of the reasons why global satellite Internet still does not cover all countries is the fear of local telecommunications companies that lobby their interests in governments. These companies are afraid of competition with giants like Starlink and Oneweb. But in vain. Satellites are aimed at areas that are difficult to cover with traditional communications infrastructure: ships, planes, islands, forests, deserts, remote rural areas, and so on. In cities, they work worse than towers, so companies will be able to keep most of their income. No need to hinder innovation.
