Today, after seven grueling weeks of Beast Baracks (West Point’s version of military basic training), Parker Brown was officially accepted into the Corps of Cadets. Over the next four years, West Point will continue to develop USMA2028 into Leaders of Character who Live Honorably, Lead Honorably & Demonstrate Excellence. "No Calling Too Great" I can't imagine a more fitting motto for their class. It perfectly captures the noble spirit and commitment that define their journey. #DutyHonorCountry

Great to see this. Congrats on this important step and good luck to him on the journey ahead!
As a civilian employee (statistician) at West Point many, many years ago I was always impressed by the quality of the young men-women weren’t admitted then- to whom the words “Duty, Honor, Country” meant something.
Brent, Where are you these days? We live in Columbia, SC. Mike gets out next year. Luke Omey's son is at WP now. HP a couple of years ago.r. DM
Congratulations....stay focused as the rest of this year will remain extremely challenging. Work hard, do the right thing, and you'll be fine.
Go Army. Sorry Bill .
Parker takes after his wonderful dad who embodies the same principles. Wishing him a fulfilling service.
Congratulations to Parker. I got chills reading your post.

3moIt was a different world when my father graduated from West Point in June 1950, (and for that matter when I graduated from the USAF Academy in May 1978), whereby challenges to our national security came from many different directions, and adversaries. Along with his classmates such as Major General Dick Cody, Colonel Frank Borman and hundreds of other classmates, he was called to serve our Nation...and they served brilliantly. The challenges and opportunities the Class of 2028 face, however, in many respects are similar. Without any doubt, the Class of '28, along with uppperclassmen from the Classes of 2025,'26 and '27 are most certainly the very best our Nation has to offer. Therefore I'm certain the men and women of USMA 2028 are up to any task that awaits them over the next four years. The US Military Academy remains today a premier academic and leadership development institution. It will play a crucial, lifetime personal and professional development role in the Class of 2028 whereby the need for strong global, ethical leaders remains as important as it was seventy five years ago when the Class of 1950 marched across the Plain at West Point. God bless the Class of 2028. "No Calling Too Great" indeed.
