My Blog for our 12th Anniversary. Lacking a clear understanding of the proper courtship and marriage process, guided only by a list of what to do and what not to do, my husband & I began on the wrong foot. Realizing that we were missing the fundamental principles behind the term "relationship," we committed ourselves to learning and growth. I'd love to share these ten keys to guide you in avoiding the mistakes we made so you can start on your journey with a clear understanding of these essential principles. In honor of 7 years of marriage, here are 7 ways I have learned to be a good partner in life and in work: 1. Always find ways to show appreciation, both big and small. 2. If you won’t remember why you’re mad in 5 years, don’t hold onto it for more than 5 minutes. 3. Choose which feedback you want to hear and internalize, and which feedback you want to go in one ear and out the other. 4. Don’t expect anyone to read your mind and know how you’re feeling without you communicating it. 5. Don’t take everything so personally. 6. Invest time in taking care of yourself so that you can show up as the best version of yourself for the people who count on you. 7. Focus on the good things, and more good things will come to you. Don’t get me wrong, I’m far from perfect and definitely don’t follow all of these every day (just ask my husband). But I do believe that practicing having the right mindset both in my personal and professional life is truly the key to happiness and growth. Hopefully at least one of these nuggets will inspire you to take action and make a difference in your day. And happy anniversary Zachary Kogan!! PS at the time this was written, he still hasn’t written back to wish me a happy anniversary 👀🤣

Last week was my wedding anniversary. It’s already been 13 years. Time sure flies, doesn't it? As we reflect on our journey, here are five qualities we’ve learned to cultivate that have strengthened our marriage: → love → respect → honesty → humility → gratitude Let's face it, no marriage is flawless. There are ups and downs. It's all part of life's roller coaster ride. For me, how we treat each other daily is more important than the anniversary date itself. Marriage isn't a sprint; It's a marathon where we learn to: ↪ grow, ↪ laugh, ↪ support, and ↪ understand each other. Whether you're in a relationship or flying solo, There's someone special in everyone's life. Don't wait to tell them how much they mean to you. Life's ticking clock reminds us to forgive swiftly and show boundless compassion. Happy Friday everyone! P.S: Comment below if you have any tips on building strong relationships with loved ones. 👇🏾

Today Allison and I are celebrating eight years of marriage! Wow, what an incredible journey it's been with such an amazing person... and now we have two beautiful littles (we call them "cygnets") who have joined us. As busy as we are, and as demanding as this call is on our lives, we thank God for the privilege of serving Him and our wonderful Kentucky friends and neighbors. I know how busy we all are, but do you take time to celebrate milestones in your life and in your workplace? David Wilkerson implored people to "pause and remember" as they journeyed through life. Whatever your work is, and however it turns out, it is so important to celebrate wins and commemorate key times in our personal and work lives. This encourages gratitude and honor, inviting them into our spaces. And wouldn't you agree that our culture sorely needs more gratitude and honor in it right now? You can do that in your corner of the world by finding crucial moments to commemorate. These kinds of customs and traditions undergird a vibrant, meaningful culture that people want to join and participate in. And the healthier the culture, the more stable (i.e. higher retention) and productive (i.e. you make more money) the workforce... so everyone wins. Need help with celebrating milestones, or even finding the time to do so? GREAT Leaders can help! Just reach out, and we can help you and your team begin creating the healthy, dynamic culture you and your colleagues desire.

#MrWonderful really is wise 🧠 💡 Life lessons: • Marry someone who tolerates your weakness • Children end up being so important as we get older > Be smart > Start a family young #Leadership #Family #Wisdom
Love isn’t enough. If you want a lasting marriage, you need someone who accepts your weaknesses, not just your strengths. That’s what I found in my wife, Linda. We’ve been together for almost 40 years. Looking back, I’d get married and have kids even earlier. Family becomes everything, and the sooner you start, the more rewarding life gets. Here’s some advice you don’t want to miss.
