4 years ago, I was preparing for a pitch in 🇫🇮 I would say for the greatest business angel network in the world - Finnish Business Angels Network (FiBAN). Will Cardwell (Open Circle Capital), as almost father to son, was making me intros to all the members in suits, telling the stories how they exited a 100M deal just two months before bankruptcy. And I saw one guy in jeans in the corner. Was always on the phone. Though, ok, I am not the only one with jeans 😅 Started to listen to the pitches. There were some smart standard questions from angels. But what I remember, is that "jeans" guy going very tough and straight forward with the questions. For each startup 😧 Same questions, I had in mind by the way So I got on stage. Finished my pitch. And ... Ali Omar with those jeans stood up. Thought ... be clever, think, answer ... And Ali said: not a question, just a comment. I use your pitch deck as an example of how the deck should be done for all my portfolio startups. Still remember this So I opened that deck now. Really not bad 💪 #throwback

Dont't pitch your startup!!! ...before thinking about this As you should know your ideal client, you must know your ideal investors, this are 5 questions you must ask yourself and your team before pitching your project. 1 - Why are you raising found? 2 - What do you expect from your future investor? 3 - What red flag behaviors should you watch for in prospective investors? 4 - Are you coachable? (You and your team) 5 - How much control are you wiling to give up ?
