Sooo, I'm bringing the podcast back. For those who don't know, the Better Not Bitter Podcast was established in 2021. The original mission was designed to host conversations surrounding disability, chronic illnesses and albinism. It was such a fun experience. As I began to fully unpack my own story and have more dialogue with fellow believers in a diversity of industries and community experiences, the mission of the podcast began to expand as I began to to see how becoming "Better and not Bitter" touches so many aspects of life, in addition to disability. So what is the common thread? Storytelling. We tend to hide our stories out of self preservation, fear or simply feeling that our story doesn't matter. But it does. Someone out there needs to know that becoming better and not bitter is a journey that is possible to undertake. So what is the expanded mission and why should I listen? Hopefully the revised mission statement can help me answer your question: Welcome to the Better Not Bitter Podcast. What began in 2021 as an endeavor to educate and bring awareness to disability, albinism, and chronic conditions has now flourished into an expanded mission to embrace redemptive storytelling for kingdom impact. Join your host, Mayia Warren, and guests for poignant conversations that delve into topics that revolve around transformation and wholeness in Christ. Whether you are seeking inspiration, information, or desire to lead a "Better Not Bitter" life...tune in. It's a journey and we are glad to have you along for the ride. #betternotbitter #disabilityinclusion #storytelling #leadership #mentalhealthawarenessmonth

New podcast recommendation alert!!! This was the best podcast I've heard about disability, ableism, and getting what you want out of life and relationships, for EVERYONE, not only disabled people. In our culture where we think everything must be "MAXXED" at all times, or we failed, we set ourselves up for the inevitable failure, loneliness and despair that will follow. We need to reacquaint ourselves with our humanity, which is flawed, and disabled (if not now, in the future) so that we can build the sorts of human relationships that will sustain us through the times when we struggle. https://lnkd.in/gAHw-FD5

Children are naturally wholesome, healthy, and fulfilled, living each day without the burdens and worries that often weigh us down as adults. They embody pure joy and curiosity, embracing life with open hearts and minds. Their laughter is genuine, their play is uninhibited, and their dreams are boundless. As we grow older, we tend to lose touch with this carefree essence, becoming entangled in responsibilities and stresses. However, we can find profound healing by reconnecting with our inner child. Working to heal and connect with this part of us involves allowing ourselves to play, dream, and imagine freely once again. Are you ready to heal? Watch this podcast to begin your own path — link in the comments. #healingjourney #innerchild #selfdiscovery #embracejoy

Every time I’m about to hit ‘post’ here on LinkedIn—even today—I still feel a slight hesitation. 😢 😒 But if I had let that hesitation hold me back, Mambition Podcast wouldn’t be here today. What started as casual chats during baby classes between myself and Alex Morgan is slowly but surely making an impact. We’re now 33 episodes into our podcast, and along the way, we’ve realized we’re not alone. There are so many other women and mothers out there, balancing ambition and motherhood, navigating the juggle just like we are. We’ve been building a community of inspiring #women and #mothers who are empowering each other to chase their dreams while raising families. Procrastination often disguises itself as perfection, pretending to be quality control. We spent ages planning, strategizing, and reworking every detail—only to realize it wasn’t about getting it right; it was about fear. What held us back: 🚫 Fear of putting ourselves out there 🤔 Worrying about getting it wrong/not working out ⚖️ Balancing motherhood with personal goals What helped us take action: ✔️ Giving ourselves permission to try ⏳ If not now, then when? 📈 Progress matters more than perfection If, like us, you have a goal or an idea that you’re sitting on, maybe today is the day to take that one small step. Let’s normalize feeling the fear and doing it anyway—because nothing changes unless we take action. 💬✨ #WorkingMoms #AmbitiousMothers #MomLifeBalance #WomenSupportingWomen #MindsetShift #JustGetStarted #Motivation

🎙️ New Episode Alert! 🎙️ Hey everyone! I’m excited to announce the latest episode of Underdawg Talk featuring the incredible Tasha Marie, founder and president of the Minority Recovering Collective, Inc. (Mirci ). Tasha is a powerful advocate, entrepreneur, and storyteller who has dedicated her life to promoting recovery and wellness within the Black community. In this episode, we dive deep into her journey and the mission behind Mirci, and I wanted to share three key takeaways that really resonated with me: * Creating Safe Spaces for Recovery: Tasha emphasizes the importance of creating spaces where individuals can feel safe and supported in their recovery journeys. She started Mercy out of her own need for a community that understood her experiences as a young queer Black woman. This highlights how vital it is to have environments that cater to our unique needs, allowing us to connect, share, and heal together. * Embracing the Process of Recovery: Recovery is not just about overcoming addiction or mental health challenges; it’s about restoring our overall well-being. Tasha beautifully articulates that recovery is a personal journey that can look different for everyone. It’s about finding what works for you and recognizing that it’s okay to seek help and support along the way. This perspective is crucial for anyone navigating their own recovery process. * Collaboration Over Competition: One of the most powerful messages from Tasha is the idea that we should focus on collaboration rather than competition. She reminds us that many successful initiatives stem from remixing existing ideas to better serve our communities. By working together and sharing resources, we can create a more inclusive and supportive environment for everyone. I encourage you all to listen to this episode and reflect on these takeaways. Tasha’s insights are not only inspiring but also a call to action for all of us to create spaces of healing and empowerment in our communities. 👉 Tune in now and let’s continue the conversation about recovery, wellness, and community support! #UnderdogTalk #Podcast #Recovery #Community #Empowerment #TashaMarie #Mirci Link: https://lnkd.in/gnRjvEYa

AUTISM IN CONVERSATION WITH AUTICON: The power of business to create change The latest episode of ‘Autism: In conversation with auticon’ focuses on why taking a neuroinclusive approach can create a better working world. The last question we ask each guest is what changes they would like to see happen in the next 10 years to make the world more inclusive. We were joined by Chief People Officer at @bankofireland, Matt Elliott, to find out his thoughts… A passionate inclusion advocate, Matt believes that businesses have a huge amount of power at their disposal to make lasting, meaningful improvements to create inclusive working environments - we couldn’t agree more! That's why we are thrilled to be working with the Bank on their neuroinclusion strategy. You can find out more about the steps Matt and Bank of Ireland are taking to make changes in the organisation by listening to the podcast. Kinia, how do you mother and work with a 7, 4, and breastfed 5-month-old without feeling constantly #overwhelmed (and *sometimes* putting in 50-60 hour work weeks), managing people, onboarding new clients, keeping an orderly house, and taking “you” time? It starts with a decision. About who I AM. About how I talk to myself every day. About asking for help from family and paid experts. Support systems that give me back 25 hours plus per week to focus on family, work, and my health. Clarity in my vision and values, and awareness of how I use my time. I craft work-rich seasons and family-focused seasons. I used to be overwhelmed. I use to blame the system. I used to feel guilty. I use to argue with my husband. I used to focus on the “motherhood penalty” And then, I didn’t. I stopped. It starts with a decision. Want more support like this? Head on to https://lnkd.in/gFucJDgS for our weekly podcast, free webinars, and supportive STEM mom community.

As kids, we build our understanding of the world and our place in it. Often, this means hearing “no” more times than we can count, making us feel like happiness is something we’re not entitled to. These early experiences shape our adult lives, influencing our choices and beliefs about what we deserve. But guess what? We can reprogram those old messages and create a new blueprint for joy. By acknowledging and challenging these ingrained beliefs, we open ourselves up to a life of happiness and fulfillment. Curious about how to start this transformation?
