🤖 Custom #GPTs: Hype or Hope? When #OpenAI launched Custom GPTs and the GPT Store, there was a wave of excitement. The promise was thrilling - personalized #AI models available on demand, tailored to specific needs and skill sets. For many of us, it felt like the start of something #transformative. 🚀 But now, months later, I can’t help but wonder: where did that excitement go? 🤔 As someone who’s developed multiple Custom #GPTs, I’ve seen both sides. On one hand, these tools can offer real value for specific, targeted tasks. I’ve used them sporadically, deploying them for tailored needs. Yet, despite the initial hype, I see the limitations that have dampened the excitement. 👉 Many of these #models don’t deliver the kind of seamless, "plug-and-play" functionality we were promised. Instead, they require thoughtful design, patience, maintenance, and realistic expectations - things that weren’t highlighted in the initial rush of enthusiasm. So, here’s the question: Were we too quick to assume these models would be the “killer app” for most #business need? In my experience, Custom GPTs often serve as #niche tools - valuable, yes, but far from a silver bullet. The excitement has faded because they don’t always deliver the seamless, intuitive experience many hoped for. 👋 If you’ve experimented with Custom GPTs, what’s your take? Are you using them regularly, are they changing your #workflow - or was the initial excitement just a mirage? Let’s dig into where the real potential lies. - - - - - - - - - - - - 🙋♂️ I'm Braňo, and together with transformio and our partners, we're empowering companies, leaders, and teams for the future - starting today. I’m passionate about this work because it’s meaningful and drives real change.
Btw. do you delete old GPTs you have built in the past? Or just leave them on GPTs cemetery ✝️ ?
:) "As a person with a background as an IT analyst, I am accustomed to considering all possible outcomes in a situation. Many times, I’ve seen custom GPTs where not all potential outcomes were 'addressed' – for example, users could exploit the system by asking questions unrelated to the main GPT theme, or, if certain outcome branches were not pre-defined, the GPT would start 'hallucinating' responses. Was it the fault of the custom GPT creator or the user? :) As a copywriter, I often see people trying to redefine templates to suit their needs – but that approach hasn’t worked for me. I’ve always wanted to retain something original in my work, so I consult with AI on the topic, treating it as a knowledge base. AI can process and compare vast amounts of information effectively and can be quite inspiring. When I prepare an outline, AI helps expand it further and often adds ideas I hadn’t thought of… I don’t want to reach a point where it does everything for me – I would feel unnecessary. :)"
I love custom GPTs. At this point in time, when businesses are reactant to invest in prompt engineering courses for the masses these provide a rapid integration of advanced AI applications without the need to study AI. The issue with GPTs is that so many in the app store are woeful because OpenAI has no quality control. I love them and save many hours every week using them!

1moAre you still developing new GPTs? And are you updating the ones you have developed in the past? Are they performing? Recently, I have developed only few for very specific niche purpose and I will use them only temporarily.
