Why’d we do it? 'Brains on Fire’ came from one of our original founders, the great Mike Goot. The stories go that Mike would get an idea and start pulling at his hair and yell those three simple words… with great enthusiasm. Mike was a mad scientist, and he looked the part, so it stuck. And meaning was born. The words represented the spark. The kindling of something great. The next chapter of Brains on Fire was carried forward by a team who helped shape and champion the word of mouth marketing movement of the early 2000s. Incredible marketers and leaders Robbin Phillips, Greg Cordell, and many others brought new meaning to the three words — centering that meaning around sparking community and watching advocates fan the flames of passion for brands all over the world. Today, we’re firmly in a new chapter. While much has changed, the spirit and the through line remain. Those three words are still an important part of us, but in many ways, they were incomplete for who we are as a team and a business. As we went through the rebrand process we also reimagined a new set of values as a team: We care for each other (We’re Brains with Hearts) We look for magic (We’re Brains in a Big Universe) We do good work (We’re Brains that Give a Damn) We spark joy. (We’re Brains on Fire) The words found a home, and found new meaning. Our new identity is centered around a spark — a nod to the past and clarity for our future. The rebrand of RainierDigital has officially started! It's always hard to let go of something you've had for so long- I started RainierDigital in 2009 - but things change and companies evolve. I've evolved. Even though I've been focusing mostly on RevOps services since spinning RainierDigital back up in 2021, I needed to see where it went and how it evolved before doing a rebrand. I'm now squarely in the RevOp and GTM strategy world and am planting my flag with a rebrand of my company. There's more to a company than a logo - the name is crucially import for communicating what you do and sticking in people's minds. Most importantly, people need to clearly (and quickly) know what you do and who you're for. Take my friend, 🔶🔸Mason Cosby🔸🔶's company, Scrappy ABM. The name says it all- "scrappy" implies quick results and finding novel ways to execute ABM without breaking the bank and it's pretty clear they specialize in ABM. Now for the hard part- creating a list and changing every existing brand touchpoint. For anyone considering something similar, I didn't create a new company- RainierDigital LLC still exists and is the primary company. Rainier RevOps is a DBA. That makes things considerably easier- don't have to change bank accounts and other primary billing accounts. I also didn't want to change the entire look of my brand since I've built up considerable momentum over the past two years.

Rate the difficulty of pushing a square through a field on a scale of 1-10. It will be a solid 8, right? That is how difficult making a customer take action. Though you have social proof, quality products and attractive packaging. Now, rate pushing a circle object. The difficulty will be at 2(the field may be long or bumpy). That’s how easy it is to reach a customer and make them take action with brand identity and marketing. A well-crafted brand identity - Resonates with customers, - Builds trust, - Sets you apart from competitors, - Drives significant sales growth. By focusing on building a brand that resonates, you're not just selling a product; you're creating an experience that customers will seek out.
