'Recommended Aspect Ratios' for Meta Ads 💾 Save this one! 🔥 Choosing the right aspect ratio can be quite challenging, and Meta's official documentation is confusing... So I decided to share my personal preferences. Consider using my recommended ratios as a guide for each ad placement. 🧠 Note that there are currently multiple options to choose from, like using 1:1 instead of 4:5 creatives for the Facebook and Instagram Feed. When this is the case, I would recommend using the 4:5 aspect ratio, as it occupies more screen real estate. How are you selecting aspect ratios for your Meta Ads? #MetaAds aspect ratio recommendations by Bram 💙 Follow for more Meta Ads content.

💡 Bonus TIP: By looking at my overview, 1:1 still covers most ad placements, however these are not the most important ones (Facebook and Instagram Feed are). Therefore I suggest uploading 1:1 as the default and then start adapting for the 4:5 and 9:16 ad placements.

Anyone notices that sometimes the 4:5 aspect ratio gets squared for no reason on the Facebook mobile feed ?

Bram Van der Hallen great recap, thanks! I would also suggest removing the ‘visual touch-ups’ feature to avoid all the effort of creating ad-hoc formats being messed up by this option 😊

Really appreciate the guidance here, Bram. Do you recommend testing different aspect ratios or is it more about consistency across campaigns?

Choosing the right aspect ratio is crucial for maximizing engagement. 🔥 For Facebook and Instagram feeds, always go for the 4:5 ratio—it occupies more screen space and drives better visibility. Stick with 1:1 for profiles, but remember, more screen real estate = more impact!

let’s not forget about the safe zone that needs to be respected when crafting 9:16 creatives - that’s something many don’t consider.

Great insights on recommended aspect ratios for Meta Ads, Bram! I completely agree that choosing the right aspect ratio can be quite challenging, especially with so many options available. In addition to your recommendations, I would suggest considering the audience and platform when selecting aspect ratios. For example, vertical videos tend to perform better on mobile devices, while square images work well on Instagram. It's also important to test different ratios to see what works best for your specific ad and audience. Thanks for sharing your expertise!
