🎭 Stage Management: The Backbone of Every Performance 🎭 I’ve had the privilege of stage managing a range of productions—live shows, major events, and theatre performances. Each has taught me the value of strategic preparation, adaptability, and staying cool under pressure. With every project, I gain confidence, sharpen my skills, and deepen my passion for the craft. Stage management is much more than keeping schedules and calling cues; it’s about building a foundation that keeps everything running smoothly, even when surprises arise. Welcome to Tribe One Nation – My First Day Experience Walking into Tribe One Nation for my first day, I felt a mix of excitement and anticipation. This isn’t just any company – Tribe One Nation is a dynamic, 21st-century organization with a vision that places immense value on each person’s voice and contribution. Founded just two years ago, they’re already making waves, working alongside some of the best in the industry. Their determination and drive set the tone, and I could feel it as soon as I stepped in. The day kicked off with an insightful onboarding session. It wasn’t just about the basics; it was a well-orchestrated dive into the inner workings of the company. By the end of it, I had a solid grasp on what makes Tribe One Nation tick and knew I was stepping into something special. But the real action started right after onboarding. Less than an hour in, I found myself in a room buzzing with energy, surrounded by brilliant minds all brainstorming ways to bring big ideas to life. It was a hands-on, dive-right-in kind of environment, with ideas flowing non-stop. The room’s creativity was contagious – a real-time masterclass in innovation and collaboration. Within two hours, every whiteboard was filled, every head deep in thought. We mapped out three weeks’ worth of back-to-back projects focused on movie marketing and distribution, each one more exciting than the last. I was awestruck at how quickly an empty board transformed into a tangible plan, with goals and timelines ready to go. Looking back, I can’t imagine a better start. 🌿 As the week winds down, I’m reflecting on all the achievements we’ve had at Lightfarm Studios these past few days. I just returned from a 20-day trip, and to be honest, at first, I wasn’t exactly excited to get back to work. Stepping back into my role was really nice, but made me realize how much I needed that offline time - which wouldn't be possible without the support of my team. I came back more inspired, more determined, and more energized to push forward with my team. Being a producer in advertising has its challenges, but stepping into a leadership role brought me face-to-face with the most rewarding—and difficult—tasks of my career. It’s not just about managing workflows and hitting deadlines; it’s about people—their aspirations, personal goals, and creating an environment where they can truly thrive. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that listening isn’t enough. Often, people are so used to not being asked about their future that they don’t even know how to articulate their goals. I remember asking one of my team members what they wanted to do next, and they were genuinely surprised. They weren’t used to having someone invest in their growth like that. So, I’ve made it a point to not only listen but encourage my team to think bigger, to challenge themselves, and to explore their own potential. Looking back, I couldn’t be prouder of the growth and independence my team of producers has shown. While I was on vacation, I didn’t have to worry—they handled everything, collaborated, and solved problems like pros. That is why I would like to extend an special highlight for them today. One way to know you're succeeding as a game producer: You step away unexpectedly for more than a week, and the team continues to execute AND IMPROVE the way they work, stays focused on the vision of the game, and challenges themselves in healthy ways. There is a never-ending journey producers are walking. There will always be ways to improve any team, and get more and more nuanced (and interesting). If you can't get past the basics by remaining a crutch and dependency for the simplest things, you never get to go on the journey to high performance with your teams. You'll get to a "functional" level and stall. Your job isn't "running a work system," it's making the team/org/studio you lead more effective.
