I have a podcast now! Welcome to #Xecast episode 1. This is a total experiment and I'm going to try to do episodes every other week to avoid over-committing (I travel a lot for work). Eventually I'd love to have guests on to talk about what they love, but for now I'm aggressively de-scoping and making it as minimal as possible. Let me know what you think in the comments below! Show Notes: * This is the first episode of Xecast, an experimental podcast by Xe Iaso. * Xe talks about their background in tech, starting with early exposure to computers and programming. * They discuss their love for tinkering and finding creative, sometimes "cursed," solutions to problems. * The conversation dives into their fictional series, #Techaro, and the rules Xe created to make it universally relatable. * Xe reveals their desire to write a book and create short films based on the #Techaro universe. * The episode touches on Xe's fascination with AI and its potential for social commentary. * Xe encourages listeners to watch The Twilight Zone and Black Mirror for their thought-provoking social commentary. Key Takeaways: * Embracing the Cursed: Xe's passion for technology lies in its potential for unconventional and even "cursed" solutions. This approach has fueled their career and creative pursuits. * Relatability in Fiction: Xe's #Techaro series thrives on its generic, relatable depiction of the tech industry. By avoiding specific details, readers can easily draw parallels to real-world companies and experiences. * Technology as a Mirror: Xe believes technology amplifies existing human flaws and societal issues. They use their writing to explore this concept, drawing inspiration from shows like "The Twilight Zone" and "Black Mirror." * AI as a Narrative Tool: Xe sees AI as a powerful tool for social commentary, particularly regarding labor exploitation. They plan to explore this theme in future #Techaro stories.

I finally got around to watching the @Elon Musk and @Lex Fridman podcast. 8.5 hours CARL!!! But that was something... It's more than just a podcast. It is more like an audiobook. And let me tell you, Elon Musk's vision for Neuralink is both revolutionary and ambitious. The future looks promising, so go and check out the full discussion here: https://lnkd.in/dSnETcyg Here are some quick highlights that caught my eye: The entire concept is mind-boggling. It's not just a piece of metal in your head. It has the potential to revolutionize how we communicate and interact with technology. One particularly interesting point Musk made is that Neuralink could potentially double the current world record in terms of speed of information transfer. Imagine sending messages, codes, or even just scrolling through social media twice as fast! But this brings up the question: how necessary is this speed? The other exciting thing comes from healthcare. Musk described Neuralink's mission as solving basic neurological issues, such as repairing spinal cord injuries or restoring vision for blind people. Such innovations hint at a future where brain-machine interfaces could communicate directly with #AI, addressing conditions like schizophrenia and seizures and potentially even granting what Musk referred to as "superpowers." The first neural link was implemented not so far ago to a real person, not without problems (I heard that some of those tiny strings snapped away), but it works. What do you think about this future? Are we ready to embrace this new way of interacting with the digital world? #Neuralink #Technology #AGI #Healthcare #Future #AI #Innovation #Podcast #Takeaways

There is no “one good way” of asking questions. No single specific technique or sentence structure that will optimise our results or outcomes. Instead, intentionally creating more space for doubt and questions in our work and interactions, asks us to practice self-awareness and focus more on our mindset. ▶ Being aware of our assumptions ▶ Admitting and accepting that we don’t know ▶ Sharing honestly with others that you don’t know ▶ Practicing our capacity to be with the unknown From that place, it can become a conversation geared for growth and learning. Sounds simple (perhaps), but in a society that rewards certainty, clarity and knowledge over all - this can be a scary notion. So. There might not be “one good way” to ask questions, but is there a bad way to do it? Tune into the full conversation to find out, how Pia Lauritzen, PhD answered this question she had never gotten before… __________________________ In episode 54 of The Experience Designers Podcast, Pia and myself explore what potential and pitfalls a question holds, how questions are what makes us unique in the face of AI and what is needed in us to fully leverage the power of both our doubt and our curiosity. I'm the latest guest on the Marni on the Move Podcast! Truth be told, host Marni Salup is my partner in life and all things, my biggest cheerleader, my personal trainer, and my PR and marketing guru. On this episode we talk about my book 𝗧𝗘𝗠𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘: 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗜, which debuted as the #1 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻-𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. Woo hoo!!!! One of Marni's talents is asking great questions: She asked me who I wrote the book for, so let me tell you: ① 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗲𝗲𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀 I wrote this book for the person who enjoys wandering in a bookstore, browsing the shelves and looking for inspiration. For you, you will find stories drawn from popular culture, sports, my kooky family, psychology, neuroscience, game theory, physics all woven around a framework that is designed to give you personal insights into your own style of creativity. ② 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 I wrote this book for the innovation team leader who is trying to get the most out of diverse teams. For you, you will find guidance for maximizing the potential of every member of your team, to contribute to the creative process from their sweet spot and using the concept of personas to build a culture of belonging and empathy. ③ 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗜 𝗖𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 I wrote this book to introduce some of the more technical aspects of AI in an approachable, understandable, and enlightening way. For you, we talk about how computer scientists program machines to create and why this is an opportunity, not a threat to humanity. So join me and Marni for her great questions and my attempt at some good answers!

Is our obsession with technology driving us towards a dystopian future, or can we harness it to create a better world? 🎙️ ➡️ In the latest episode of Synthetic Minds, T.R. Napper, a celebrated science fiction author, discusses the critical intersection of technology and society. ➡️ Known for his cyberpunk narratives in books such as "36 Street", Napper explores how advancements in technology could shape the future, emphasizing the dual-edged nature of technological progress. ➡️ His work offers a stark reminder of the potential for technology to both empower and oppress. Napper's insights encourage business leaders to consider ethical implications and human resilience as they navigate the complexities of modern innovation. ❓ By embracing a balanced view of technological adoption, we can strive for progress that enhances, rather than undermines, our humanity. How can we ensure that the future we build with technology is inclusive and ethical?
