Spreading holiday cheer with honey: Our associate Armin has a special hobby that makes his life a little sweeter. 🍯🎄
While his job at Bosch keeps him busy with technical challenges, his passion for beekeeping has become a cherished part of his life. During the festive season, Armin sells his honey from the family-run apiary "Honig Glock" to Bosch associates. The proceeds go directly to Primavera e.V.
For more than 30 years, Primavera e.V. has been committed to helping children and young people in emerging and developing countries by supporting education, cultural projects, and long-term aid, ensuring donations are used effectively and sustainably.

Armin's story beautifully illustrates how personal passions can create a positive impact, both in our lives and the lives of others. It's inspiring to see Bosch associates like him making a difference during the holiday season.
While commendable in its intent, the collaborative initiative between Nestlé UK & Ireland and Arla Foods UK to donate breakfast provisions to FareShare UK warrants critical examination from various academic perspectives.
Firstly, the framing of the initiative as a philanthropic endeavor by the companies involved may obscure underlying motivations, such as enhancing brand reputation or garnering positive publicity. This raises questions about the authenticity and long-term sustainability of the partnership beyond its immediate impact.
Furthermore, the focus on providing breakfasts to vulnerable and disadvantaged individuals highlights broader systemic issues of food insecurity and poverty in the UK. While such charitable efforts provide short-term relief, they do not address the root causes of food poverty or contribute to structural solutions that address income inequality and access to affordable, nutritious food.
The reliance on corporate donations to address societal challenges like hunger also raises concerns about the role of businesses in social welfare provision. Critics may argue that such initiatives can serve to absolve governments of their responsibility to address systemic issues through policy interventions and public investment in social services.
Moreover, the absence of transparency regarding the specific terms and conditions of the partnership, including the duration and scope of the donation, limits the ability to assess its effectiveness and accountability. Academic scrutiny should extend to evaluating the impact of such initiatives on the communities they purport to serve, including considerations of cultural sensitivity, dignity, and empowerment.
In conclusion, while collaborative efforts between corporations and charitable organizations to address food insecurity are laudable, critical analysis is necessary to interrogate the underlying dynamics, motivations, and implications of such initiatives within broader socio-economic contexts. It is essential to move beyond surface-level narratives of corporate social responsibility to engage in deeper discussions about systemic change and equitable solutions to food poverty.
We’ve joined forces with Arla Foods UK to donate the equivalent of 1.25 million breakfasts to FareShare UK.
We’re providing Shreddies and Arla is providing Cravendale milk to help build breakfasts for organisations supporting vulnerable and disadvantaged people in the UK. This donation has been made possible by the team at our factory in Staverton who have come together to produce the additional stock which will make a difference to thousands of families across the UK.
Andrew Shaw, Supply Chain Director at Nestlé UK & Ireland, said: "We know just how important the first of meal of the day is, but in the current climate more and more people are starting the day with an empty stomach. That’s why we wanted to work with Arla and FareShare to provide breakfast to those who need it most. I’m really proud of the invaluable work that my colleagues have put in to make this donation a reality."
To date, our long standing partnership with FareShare has seen us provide the equivalent of more than six million meals. Find out more ➡️ http://spr.ly/6043jaLmV
Are you game day ready? Your tailgating safety tips playbook 🏈
Game day is here. Don’t forget about carbon monoxide safety as you fire up the grill. Always ensure your grill is properly ventilated and never use it in enclosed spaces like tents or garages. Carbon monoxide is a silent danger – odorless and colorless, so be mindful of where you're grilling.

So, yesterday did something new and went litter picking with a fabulous community group in my area called Rubbish Friends (great name isn’t it? 🤣)
It’s so sad that volunteer groups have to be put together to tackle this huge problem - there’s certainly not enough help from government any more to keep our towns beautiful, but what an amazing bunch of people they were!
Hard-working, determined to look after our planet, and friendly we had a fabulous couple of hours armed with bags, gloves, hi-vis and litter sticks. We chatted, we competed to see who could find the funniest piece of litter (a man who found a hymalayan salt lamp was declared the winner!) and we tidied up 25 bags of recycling, and sadly a fair few bags of landfill too. I’m astounded by the amount of vaping equipment that gets thrown away.
I was completely blown away by the coming together of people from different walks of life to solve this problem together. It really works and it feels great too! 💪🏻
We are available this week for all charities, non-profits and social enterprises to get together with us, to solve any problem you are facing. From better systems, to working practices, learning new ideas or updating old ones. We want to help you!
Have a great week and I highly recommend litter picking - like therapy only better! 😁

It is so inspiring to see the work the Ocean Wise youth alum are doing, and at the same time disheartening to see reports like the recent one from the Auditor General titled "Unclear whether federal plastic waste-reduction activities will eliminate all plastic waste by 2030" (report here->https://lnkd.in/gQr43_xd).
We need the Ocean, and the Ocean needs us! During June, Tru Earth will be matching donations up to $10,000. Join the effort to reduce Ocean Pollution and Plastics here - https://lnkd.in/gvfY2ztR
Meet Yasmine: An Ocean Wise Youth alum making waves for our ocean! 🌊
Yasmine, a passionate ocean advocate, is creating ripples of change. After discovering that cigarette butts are the #1 littered item in the world, she took action. Through our Ocean Bridge program, Yasmin created eye-catching transit posters, raising awareness about the harmful impact of cigarette butts on marine life. She invited people to join local beach cleanups, sparking a movement that extends far beyond the shoreline with her initiative the Buttwatch campaign.
When we invest in young people like Yasmine, our impact on the ocean multiplies. They inspire family, friends, teachers, and community members to join the global ocean conservation movement. Yasmine’s dedication even inspired her dad, who has already collected over 50,000 cigarette butts this year! 🙌
In honor of World Ocean Day, for the rest of June, Tru Earth will be matching donations dollar for dollar, up to $10,000! Let’s make waves together! 🌊 https://lnkd.in/gvfY2ztR
Well, we've planted over half a million trees in the last 3 years. Not a bad little milestone for 2 Manchester dads. As ever in life, this was down to the collective efforts of many including our brilliant members. Well done to all involved and the Play It Green | Certified B Corp community.
The 519,000 trees we've planted so far is enough to rebalance the emissions of every Licenced Car in Manchester (172,830 cars) for the last 11 weeks. That's not why we do but it is a pretty cool stat to share.
We've also helped over 100,000 people and 300+ businesses take more footprint reduction actions and passed on funds to 35+ charities, seven receiving four figure sums. We're all about #reduce#repair#regive
We're a small business helping other businesses be greener and more impactful. To leave a legacy and not shy away from the fact that being green helps you win more business, grow and be more profitable. Conscious capitalism as my fellow cofounder Richard Dickson would say.
If Carlsberg did subscription services...it would be Play It Green.
Passion is the fuel of life! #bringthepassion
