When the veil of the ordinary lifts.
We reach a point where life, as we’ve always known it, shifts:
- a pivot
- a life-quake
- a loss
Regardless of how it happens, we step into a world that doesn’t look quite the same.
Loss or change, even when challenging, peels back the “veil of the ordinary.”
Things we once took for granted appear with more vivid detail:
- a simple walk in nature
- a moment with friends
- a quiet coffee
We notice what we may have rushed past before, and our relationships, routines, and experiences all feel more alive.
Embracing these shifts doesn’t mean we abandon the past or deny the loss.
We can stay present with what life is showing us, letting go of fixed outcomes and opening to the unknown.
This is where curiosity becomes our ally.
- What is this moment teaching me?
- What matters most now?
- How can I lean into what is?
We can also lean into the future with a sense of possibility.
There is no a single “right path” - just multiple ways forward.
But whether the change is planned or unexpected, we have the power to connect deeply with our lives in the here and now.
Do this, and we cultivate resilience, openness and peace with possibility.
Today I talk to Sue Deagle about loss and aliveness. Join us at 12.30pm UK time on Crowdcast to listen live and be part of the conversation.
