When the animals start taking selfies You know the forest is becoming a zoo The difference between a forest and a zoo is, the forest is, and the zoo tries to capture how it is. The forest chimp is busy swinging and the zoo chimp knows it is a chimp. As children we are busy living, and as adults, we get busy describing living. In the process of capturing, do we loose it. Enjoy your selfies, don’t let them replace you. The essence is the finest capture. www.afieldcalledyou.com Clarity is essence An estimated 92 million selfies are taken daily. Is that why we can’t see aliens.

📸 Ah, Summer. Providing ample opportunity for Picture Perfect moments... or, not so much? 🦫 One fisherman bled to death after being bitten by a beaver which he had tried to grab in order to have his picture taken with it. Two key takeaways here: ✅ Admire the wildlife from afar this Summer! ✅ Remember to get your Will updated. #WryFinalExits #WillWriting #Exeter

I disagree with the sentiment in this post. Zoos and aquaria that follow animal welfare standards and conservation goals do more for wildlife conservation than sanctuaries or refuges, because they are actively encouraging the future sustainability of a species that otherwise would not survive. Accredited zoological establishments should not be unfairly conflated with tourist trap roadside zoos, which are unregulated, privately-funded, and are more likely to do more harm to wildlife than good, because they do not participate in the worldwide AZA network that works to conserve wildlife and uphold animal welfare standards. I understand the sentiment that “animals should be set free!” but the truth is that the loss of modern biodiversity would be so much larger if we didn’t have zoos to shelter the vulnerable species, where endangered animals have a chance to grow their numbers in protection from the risks that put them in danger of extinction in the first place. Accredited zoos are also important areas of education and professional development. People in general are more compelled to conserve wildlife if they are able to see and experience the wildlife for themselves, which they can do in the safety bounds of accredited zoos, without disturbing the delicate ecosystems that wildlife depends on. Then zoos offer work and volunteering opportunities to protect wildlife from a distance, for the same reason. There needs to be more understanding about the behind-the-scenes work that AZA-accredited zoological establishments do, that put the focus on the bigger picture of wildlife conservation and animal welfare standards, instead of the morality of keeping a living thing in captivity, because regardless of how we feel about it, wildlife is constantly under threat of extinction, and accredited zoos/aquaria are our best chance to conserve them for future generations. A picture that amazes most people, infuriates me. This viral photo of a massive saltwater crocodile is one of the most shocking photos you’ll find online. But for me, it’s shocking for different reasons: It highlights the HUGE issue we have treating animals like monsters to contain and control. Animals belong in the wild. Not in zoos. If people want to witness a crocodile’s power and scale, go into the wild and watch them hunt prey. Then, maybe we’ll learn to respect them. One of my passions is wildlife coexistence. It’s essential for rewilding efforts and it allows us to reconnect with nature. But caging them to inflate our sense of pride, isn’t how we achieve that. What are your thoughts or feelings on this photo? #nature #coexistence

I love nothing more than being out in nature photographing wildlife. It's my passion. One that I didn't discover until after my divorce. But whilst I will happily sit for hours on end watching wildlife, trying to get the prefect shot. When it comes to organsing and editing my photos… well let's just say "I could do better" I can never really show anyone my photos because they're all over the place on different hard drives and I haven't edited them. But last year I decided to change that. I'd had enough being stuck with my photos, not knowing where to start. I booked some sessions with an expert to teach me how to edit my photos as I have no idea where to begin… and that’s what’s kept me stuck for so long. I've spent days going through all the various hard drives and getting the thousands of photos in one place. I've catalogued them all by trip so I can easily find what I'm looking for. And that feels great just to know that I’ve made a start! I've put the foundations in place now so I can build on those and start progressing. So that eventually I can build a website to showcase my photos on. But without getting the foundations in place, this would never be possible. And this is exactly what I do when you first start working with me. We work through my unique SPARK framework and the first phase of that is focusing on STABILTY and putting the foundations in place. I help you to bring stability and control back into your life…whether that’s with your emotions, on a practical level, or both. We lay the foundations for your new life so that we can build on these and create a new life that you can’t wait to wake up to. Love to know more… reach out and let’s chat. #divorcecoach #happinesscoach #newbeginnings #findyourpassion

Who doesn’t love an autumnal walk? There may be a chill in the air, but if the sun is out (or trying to be out) on a bright autumnal day there’s nothing better than a stroll in the woods or park. So wrap up warm, put your wellies on and let’s go! Walking with children Taking your little ones on walks can be lots of fun, but little legs can get tired quickly and this can lead to protest! To avoid an unhappy toddler, plan ahead. Have a few fun activity ideas up your sleeve to keep spirits high – and don’t forget to bring wellies, snacks and a change of clothes! What to do on your autumnal walks Many of the wildlife trusts have special activities for children. Like Gruffalo trails or treasure hunts that keep little ones interested and on track. Find out who runs the local country parks in your area for the latest info. Essex Wildlife Trust, for instance, runs lots of interesting sessions for children in the school holidays and during term time. The National Trust and the RHS also have plenty of gardens and outdoor spaces with activities going on. But if there’s not much to do near you, or if you have your own favourite walk, you can also devise your own fun. Head over to our blog below for five ideas to get you started! https://lnkd.in/eyyhqaPd #walkswithkids #daysoutwithchildren #daysoutwithkids #makewalkingfun #autumnsfunwalks #happynestuk
