Stages of Scene Sketches Every scene sketch or diagram begins with a rough draft or outline. In the piece below I have demonstrated the difference between the initial outline and a more refined composition. Limitations such as time, resources, and weather may only allow for a quick on-scene outline, to be followed up by a detailed rendering. A rough draft outline is also a very acceptable piece for those with a difficult artistic curve.
