𝗪𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗲𝗱𝗜𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗯𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀? In her YouTube video, Amy Miller asserts that most recruiters read the Experience section first. Not quite sure where she stands on the About section. (Link to video in comments.) This got me to thinking, should we, as career coaches, put as much emphasis on the About section? After all, it seems (based on a highly successful article written by Kevin D. Turner with help from Jeff Young and Gillian Whitney) that LinkedIn is pumping up About and diminishing Experience in their new design. (Link to article in comments.) But given that Amy and 9 out of 11 recruiters I polled agree that Experience is read first, we have ourselves a debate. So let's take a poll to see which of the two sections are read first.
