BoardPro’s Post

What are the ingredients for a healthy relationship between a CEO and the board? Ultimately, they are: ✅ Trust ✅ Transparency ✅ Teamwork For these to be present, there needs to be a flow of information between the CEO and the board—which presents the question ... What does the CEO need to tell the board? Steven Bowman FAICD outlines what needs to be said in his latest article (🔗 link in comments ⤵️ ). The CEO needs to give the board: 🔄 everything it asks for—and anything the CEO believes the board needs to know 🔄 all information that ensures the board can meet its duty of care, monitor compliance, and engage in strategic thinking On the flipside, the board needs to: 🔄 be explicit about the information it requires—in format, frequency, and focus 🔄 use the information provided by the CEO wisely 🔄 avoid micromanaging—boards govern, CEOs manage A great board-CEO relationship is a partnership where information flows freely, egos take a back seat, and both focus on driving the organisation forward. 🚀 #Governance #Leadership #BoardLeadership #CorporateGovernance #CEOreporting #CEOreport #BoardManagementSoftware
