A few notes about registration: - Use your UNIVERSITY email - My business unit is BCA (Commercial Airplanes), but BGS and BDS are also incredible business units as well if the student is interested in those specifically! - For the BusOps BSC Internship, please ensure the students mark that they ARE interested in the Southeast Region! I cannot speak to other internships with other orgs, but the req’s will have more information. - I will have an attendance log for students to provide their info as well to pass on to the Hiring team for BusOps after our session, so if the students are interested, this is the one in-person opportunity they will have to drop in and ask questions, show interest, and make a good first impression! 😊

Dear Young Industrial Engineer currently working #letstalk There was a question on one of the forums about multiple *Internships* as an Industrial Engineer My answer: "#look at your career growth, if the Internships are beneficial to your path pursue them." What if you know early on your career what you want to be. How do you pursue it? I met my friend early in 2009 and she was a Regional manager at a logistics company, she had been working for about 10 years by then. I have never heard her say she wants to be anything else. Her goal has always been to be a #Leader* in a Logistics company. *"#Regional Managers plan, direct, or coordinate the actual distribution or movement of a product or service to the customer. Coordinate sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals and establish training programs for sales representatives. Analyze sales statistics gathered by staff to determine sales potential and inventory requirements and monitor the preferences of customers".* In the early years of her career she took advantage of #Trainee Industrial Engineer programs* in #different industries* starting with a manufacturing company moved on to services then to automotive Industry horning different skills. In this Industries she has always focused on #increasing productivity and improving staff morale while delivering quality services. Industrial engineering has allowed her to explore different ways to improve efficiency She was hired as a Production Quality engineer at the end of her 3rd #Internships at the automotive Industry, she then took on the role of Business analyst in a Logistics company and was promoted to Deputy Manager of the department and a year later was a Regional manager for the Eastern cape region for that same Logistics company in a space of 10 years. Her diverse background as an Industrial engineer gave her an understanding of operations during her turnure as a #production engineer, the #business analyst role equipped her with analytical skills which are essential for assessing performance, identifying areas of improvement and making-data driven decisions to optimize processes. Her #intership and work experience at the automotive Industry equipped her with different #problem solving skills which may have come handy in solving Supply chain disruptions or inventory management issues Serving as a Deputy Manager gave her experience in a #Leadership and taught her how to engage with different #clients and stakeholders The combination of technical expertise, analytical skills, leadership skills from the diverse background positioned her well for success as a Regional manager in a Logistics environment. She moved on to be a Regional manager at a retail company for cross border. Set a goal and stay focused, keep in mind that life is not linear and do not let twists and turns destruct you from your goal. #industrialengineers #youngengineers #careeradvice #industrialengineering

We give too much importance to milestones and too little to the journey. Engineering internship - I couldn’t clear the group discussions for any FMCG company. Engineering placements - I couldn’t convert my Day 1 shortlist. First CAT attempt - I couldn’t clear the cut-off for Verbal Ability. I can go on with this list. In fact, my family has a running joke – Whatever I touch for the first time will be ruined, second time is the charm. No one milestone makes or breaks your life. Don’t give up. Ever. #motivation #personaldevelopment #careers

An internship is more than getting a pre-placement offer! While I know that one aims to get a pre-placement offer (#PPO) to free from the rigour of final placement, an internship is a valuable opportunity for learning, growth, and exploration. 1. Learning Experience: Internships offer hands-on experience in a real-world setting, allowing interns to apply what they've learned in the classroom to actual projects and tasks. This helps you in your final placement and ensures you know what you want to pursue for the rest of your life. 2. Internships provide opportunities to connect with professionals in the field, including mentors, supervisors, and peers. Building these relationships can open doors to future job opportunities and career advancement. 3. Internships allow individuals to develop a wide range of skills, including technical skills specific to the job role and soft skills like communication, teamwork, and problem-solving. 4. Internships can be challenging and sometimes push individuals out of their comfort zones, fostering personal growth and resilience. 5. Resume Enhancement: Internship experiences enhance candidates' resumes by showcasing their practical expertise, initiative, and adaptability. There would be more to get out of an internship. What is your experience? Follow Nidhi Yadav for more such posts.
