New market entrants, large-scale mergers, and an evolving policy landscape are fueling M&A activity for investor-owned utilities in water. Currently, investor-owned utilities (publicly traded, #privateequity backed, and privately-owned) provide water and #wastewater services to around 5% of the U.S. population. In a market dominated by American Water, mergers between Veolia and SUEZ as well as SouthWest Water and Corix (now Nexus Water Group), have reshaped the next tier of competition. A host of relatively new market entrants, including NW Natural and Central States Water Resources, are incrementally strengthening their multi-state positions. Learn how Turing is helping mining companies utilize #AI to improve operations and remote management. The Challenge: The DSL Lake MacLeod site, 900 kilometers from Perth, faced major challenges in gypsum production due to unreliable freshwater from a rental RO plant. This plant required substantial outsourced labor and frequent maintenance, leading to high operating costs. The remote location further complicated securing skilled labor on-site. The Solution: We equipped the plant with a comprehensive array of sensors and automation, managed by our Gradiant exclusive #SmartOpsAI software platform. This advanced #SCADA system, using our #TOPClear technology, leverages AI and IIoT for predictive operations, maintenance, and cost optimization. The Benefits: 50% Reduction in operating labor costs via remote management >50% Savings on consumables due to optimized filter and chemical use >95% Availability ensured by predictive maintenance and process optimization Our SmartOps AI enables immediate remote management, real-time anomaly detection, and control by our data and industry experts. AI algorithms forecast maintenance needs and optimize processes for maximum efficiency in water production, energy use, and chemical consumption. #CaseStudy #MachineLearning #Mining #RemoteMonitoring

Arcadis worked closely with Wessex Water throughout PR24 to implement our Enterprise Decision Analytics platform (EDA) to help them produce an optimal asset investment plan for their PR24 business plan submission to Ofwat. “The EDA tool allows Wessex Water to plan and manage investments using a streamlined process that balances risk, cost, and performance in the most optimal way. This alignment is supported by the Wessex Water Service Measure Framework (SMF) ensuring that all investments align to a core list of drivers which are then monetized accordingly.” Learn more: https://okt.to/rAkylT #investmentplanning #digitalsolutions #assetinvestmentplanning #dataanalytics
