Tonight, Badass Businesswomen will host a workshop in North Miami called “Connecting with Clients” for South Florida’s #WomenOnSet nonprofit organization. Since many of us Badasses must continuously sell ourselves, tonight we’ll review ten sales tactics that we should each embrace in the name of producing revenue for our business. Since the event is sold out, and we won’t be streaming digitally, I thought I’d share the main takeaway slide to inspire you virtually. CHALLENGE: What’s one thing you can do next week to drive sales in your business?

"The main way to shift power is let other people steward your money who are doing great community-based or great work that you care about, instead of trying to oversee it all and control it and put all the guidelines in place. Operate with some trust for people that are doing great work." - Jason Ray speaking on our latest episode of Beyond Philanthropy about shifting power and its ties to trust.

“For sale: baby shoes, never worn.” This famous six-word story by Ernest Hemingway evokes an immediate emotional response in the reader. We can imagine the untold pain behind these words and instantly connect to the message. That’s the power of storytelling — instant connection. 🧡 Your nonprofit can create this connection with donors, volunteers and staff members with the right story too. 🙂↕️ Click on the link below to read our latest blog - Storytelling to Create Impact: Your Nonprofit's Emotional Blueprint - to breathe life into your mission and inspire your supporters to take action. 🚀 https://lnkd.in/eq6p-8QG #NewBlogPost #NonprofitStorytelling #TellingStoriesforImpact #CommunicatingImpact #MMInsights

It's July 9th, 2024, and we've crossed the halfway point of the year. Reflecting on the journey so far, I can't help but think about the extraordinary possibilities we've all created—or perhaps overlooked. This year, have you achieved more than you ever thought possible? More income, more vacations, more toys, more donations, more jewelry, or more investments? Success in any kind was exhilarating - it fueled my desire to push further and play harder. However, I find it fascinating how many people are content and happy without significant changes in their financial situation. For over a decade, the majority haven’t seen a pay increase. They’re comfortable and thriving in their own way, and I genuinely love that for them. But here's what I've learned: we often place mental limits on what we can achieve, not realizing that we have the power to CREATE the life we WANT—not just the life we need. We become what we think about. So, why not think bigger? Why not want more and go after it? What have you done this year to break your own boundaries and create the life you truly desire? #SelfReflection #CreateYourLife #BreakBoundaries #ThinkBig #PersonalGrowth #MidYearReflection

Quick question for Lissette Alvarez-Holland imagine your post was associating dolly partons donation with her skin colour instead of her anatomy... How would it sound if you said: "Dolly parton is an amazing white person, Not all darker skinned people , actually not any of them..." "where are all the rich Black, Asian, etc celebrities, white people are leading the way again" what if you made it about sexual identity? ... "Dolly parton is an amazing straight person, Not all Trans people , actually not any of them..." "where are all the rich LGBTQ celebrities, Straight people are leading the way again" Maybe now can you see your bias, Your decision to shoehorn gender ideology on an unrelated story that clearly has absolutely nothing to do with gender is bizzare, how do you reconcile that focusing on an equally unrelated physical trait in the same way would make your words abhorant biggoted hate-speach without acknowledging your words as abhorant sexism when making it about gender in the exact same context. In what universe would someone make the assumption being a humble man and donating anonymously isn't a thing. Be kind. Be humble. Be better. You’re right! Not all men. Actually, not any of them. Dolly Parton just donated $1M of her dollars towards Helene relief for families on the ground suffering right now. Where are the rocket men? Where are the Hotel king candidates and Dominating Tech boys? This is why women need capital, need to not fear branding off our personal assets and IP ideas and to stick to our womb convictions. Because when women have financial power, position and purpose, we immediately know how to course correct, invest forward, relieve stress and give life with it. Btw—- No matter how many sold records, becoming a household name, a generous entrepreneur and savvy branded business builder, I think about all those chest and wig jokes this women has had to deal with.

Need help fundraising? I raised well over $1B thus far in my career. My secret weapon: Storytelling Think about it. What captivates you at dinner parties? Stats or stories of triumph? This is fundraising's narrative power. My tip? Weave stories from the numbers. Discover how your project changed one life, one community. This not only fuels fundraising but also builds a values-driven supporter community. Crafting your next pitch? Ask: —What's the human story behind my numbers? —How can I involve my audience in this journey? Turn numbers into narratives. Watch your fundraising take-off. Share your thoughts or successful storytelling tips below. Let's boost our fundraising together. ~~~ P.S. If you liked this post, you'll like my newsletter, DavidBeatsGoliath.co

I liked the questions Matt Wilson posed in our interview because working ON my business is just as exciting to me as working IN my business. I’ve learned a lot about visioning and finding solutions to problems in my industry by listening to podcasts and reading books—not necessarily those that focus on philanthropy, but those that inspire me to ask hard, good questions and be disciplined around my focus. This clip speaks to both an entrepreneurial motivation and industry challenge: when did giving money away become so difficult? An easy service to decide to add with a big learning curve has kept things interesting for us in working with families across different generations to be intentional with their gift-giving. Multi-dimensional community problems lend to more apprehension from donors around where, how, and when to make big gifts. How can we tackle so much?! 🥵 I welcome this problem. Due diligence makes nonprofits stronger and donors more sophisticated. Thanks for having me on Matt. Listening back made me think even more about what’s next for our firm.☀️ https://lnkd.in/gXgfCnam
